That Robbo is going to do things HIS way.

Looks like the squad will have at least 4/5/6 new faces now he's talking about a new striker if Nade does go.

We can already see a change in the coverage in the press......If it wasn't for the Tevez stuff we'd hardly be in the papers.

When Warnock was around he usually got at least one quote a day in the press.

Let's hope Robbo's way will take us back up!

Thats for the best i think. If he tried to do it someone elses way then it wouldn't work.

He does what he thinks is best for the club whether the fans/board like it or not, i hope it does work out and we go straight back up.

We all hope so. So far his "connections" have given us one fullback (perhaps two) we do not really need,

By saying this, we don't NEED Nade..... Naysmith may yet be a good aquisition.

and selling off our young talent. What's next?

The only young talent sold off so far is..... er..... none.
Although Forte was released to Scunny.

Jagielka's hardly old, is he?

Depends on your definition of "young" really......

But even if you was to calculate 24 as being a young talent, Robbo hasn't really sold him off...... there was no way to stop Jagielka, and in my mind I would fully expect that he tried as hard as he could to keep him at the lane.

TBH as much as I liked NW I used to cringe at some of the stuff that he used to spurt forth in the glorious name of Sheffield United.

Robbo is his own man, he's quieter and more deliberate (see Steve Coppell) and he knows that his brief is simple - get us back to where we just came from, pronto!

He's making his mark on the squad, hasn't really tapped into the transfer fund at all yet (Jags £4m, Claude £3m, Nade £550,000, and CKR £1m and brought in Naysmith and Sharp for £3m) so there is a big potential for some excellent signings over the next 4 weeks - I hope!!

No offence guys, but a bit part of you not being in the press as much is because you are now in the fizzy pop.

I noticed when we were down there that you get substantially less press coverage (not always a bad thing mind), while even the shittest prem teams get more than the top championship teams.

I'm disappointed that Nade looks set to leave - especially to a team like Hull. He looked good last year, but looking at the amount of strikers we have it was going to be inevitable that one or two forwards would be leaving - didn't expect it to be Nade though!

This is harsh in the extreme, how can the signing of Billy Sharp be used as a stick with which to beat Robbo when the majority of blades fans had him at the top of their wanted list?

A goal scorer for 2 million pounds in a vastly inflated market is good business in my opinion, okay he may not have proven himself in the Championship but neither had the likes of Nugent and Phillips until they were given the chance.

An established premiership and international full back for a million pounds also strikes me as an excellent deal too.

I’m at a loss to think of any ‘young talent’ that has been moved on since Robbo arrived, Forte is the only player of note to have left and he has was a long way from the first team.

I am more then happy with the players that we have both signed and been linked with and I am also happy with the way that Robbo is going about his business. I was sceptical at first but I am fully behind him next season and until the day he leaves the club.

The lack of a midfielder is a worry but its early days and I would rather start the season with the current crop then bring in some of the dross that is more readily available (see Clemence to Leicester for 750k!).

How difficult must it be for him, first of all he wasn't absolutly sure which league we would be in, now he has the problem of attracting premiership players to a championship side with no promise of promotion at the season end.

he is doing OK, lets judge him after xmas.

Got to think some of you have been sleeping. Jags could not be stopped, but it seems to me that Nade and CKR represent young talent. We let some reserves go but then hang on to Horsefield. We can hope that behind that veil of silence something is going on.

Hang on to Horsefield??

Who says he wants to go?

Who has offered anything for him?

Veil of silence?......please explain??

In May you said...........

"although I would not be surprised to see Nade and Webber leave."

Robbo plays it close to the vest - by any other name, nobody knows what he is doing.
Whether I would be surprised who stayed or not is my speculation.
Robbo says he wants to keep the squad. Many here said "Oh God not Robbo." The counter was "he's got connections." Seems to me he has been here for a while, has money in the bank and the only light on the mid-field tunnel is Graveson. Who many of you call an old geezer who can't make it in the SPL. There's hope and there's reality.
I have a lot of hope for my god damn team, but the reality is still pretty thin. We sell two young strikers and buy one, we sell a hell of a centre-back (Davis is PL stuff) and get a full-back from the sidelines. The guys coming in are not bad players (don't know much about the Celtic full-back) but we are not filling the holes in the team, just changing the names on the shirts. So show me how we have elevated the team since the end of last year. Bottom line, we haven't. So I'm frustrated and worried that we are going to change for the sake of change and lose the team spirit that is the base of our success.

Enjoy!

In

Sharp - Decent signing

Naysmith - Alright i guess although everton were looking to get shut of him anyway.

Out

Kazim-Richards - Could of probably kept him and true the move he made was a big one but not good for us as a club who have said in the past we are no longer a club that needs to sell. Kazim could of stayed here a few more years performed well and earned an even bigger move.

Nade - Promising young talent going for nothing really and isnt someone we need to sell but send on loan perhaps.

Jags - Probably the only transfer that i can say fair enough let him go but im still annoyed at the money we got for him thanks to that clause. Especially since he really ended up going for for £3mil.

I dont know maybe im wrong but Sharp so far seems the only real decent thing Robbo has done so far and attempting to land a creative midfielder. Also lets not forgot the big man Davis could be on his way still and he is definatly a player i think we need to hang onto especially for the Fizzy Pop League.

I know players wont want to play in this division but id like to atleast see us try and hang on to them for one more season.

Davis has been injury prone for us. Could happen again in the championship - would be safer to get rid and make a profit rather than having a player who is injured all the time on the books.

Kazim could of stayed here a few more years performed well and earned an even bigger move.

Could have but might not have wanted to. What would you want us to do? Chain him to the Shirecliffe training ground? CKR wanted to further his international career with Turkey and so moved to Turkey. We got good money for a player that many constantly slagged last season.

Same with Nade... slagged by many and now he's a world beater!

Jags - Probably the only transfer that i can say fair enough let him go but im still annoyed at the money we got for him thanks to that clause. Especially since he really ended up going for for £3mil.

McCabe said we'd have lost him two years ago if it wasn't for backing down, compromising and allowing that clause to be in place. Take your pick... we lost him now or we lost him two years ago?

I know players wont want to play in this division but id like to at least see us try and hang on to them for one more season.

I don't know about you but I want players who want to be here and die for the cause... not players who don't really want to be here and want to be elsewhere.

It's alright saying "keep so-and-so"... but if that player doesn't want to be here, their attitude will negatively affect the dressing room.

Football fans make player movements into a black and white business, when really if they knew anything about anything, they would realise that they are all kinds of shades of grey.

A quote from Hull manager Phil Brown.......

"Robbo has made it known to everyone in the football world that there are players available at his football club."

Whatever we think Robbo is changing the squad around.

I think that we really need a marquee signing to take the edge of some disappointing departures since the season came to a close.

I have bad feeling that our next signing will be another striker and i'm worried that, despite our advances on Graveson, we appear no closer to solving the one area that has been a problem since before we were promoted.

I know that the market seems bereft of attacking midfielders, but scouts are employed so seek out such players whether they be located in the UK or abroad.

I don't know about you but I want players who want to be here and die for the cause

No player wants to be here really though.

Any player worth his salt wants to be playing in the premier league and if an offer comes in there gone.

What im saying is if other teams West Brom, Sunderland, Brummy and co can come down and hang on to there decent players then why cant we.

jags wanted to stay here, he stayed here longer than he should have in my eyes when we failed to get promotion a few years back.

It seems they think we will be lucky to make the playoffs. They don't think we have the team we need yet.

I think im starting to agree with that.

the bookies have never given us good odds, on anything for some reason.

the bookies have never given us good odds, on anything for some reason.

Except to stay up last season ;)

We cashed in at 5/1 for us to go down.

It was a plan from us to soften the blow of going down. We chucked 10 euro's on us going down, if we won, it didn't matter, if we lost we had some more beer money to drown our sorrows. It was a win/win situation KINDA

I wonder if the bookies backed Derby to go up last season, or Watford the year before.

I'm surprised that so many seem to be expecting a season of disappointment, i personally think we have a great chance of automatic promotion and i am eagerly anticipating the start of the new campaign.

Hopefully a couple of good signings this week will fill even the most ardent doubters with some hope.

Ge'or wi thi!

As if this bunch of miserable sods will ever be optimistic about anything!

Interesting how Robbo gave all the players, except for the keepers, a full game at Worksop.

Already totally different to Warnock's approach.
