One reason you'd like us to go all the way.

We'd all be able to watch the likes of Magic Hat,Bash,Flecky,Coooooooouuuuuuts,Duff and our very own Billy take on and clatter all those supposedly better Prem teams as conducted by the Wild One and the Kniller.

Pigs
Shammers
Scudamore
Brooking
Warnock
Megson
Prutton

And all the rest that hate us,so many scores to settle and so many wrongs to put right !!!

Warnock may have fallen out with McCabe but I wouldn't say he 'hates' his club and doesn't want us to get promoted.

Purely speculative at the moment of course, but one main reason for me is that I'd love to see CW have the chance to pit his wits against the likes of Mourhino, Guardiola and, errrrrr, Neil Warnock!
What a moment it would be to hear the MOTD pundits drooling over his achievements if we/he managed to pull it off and then bulldoze our way through the first few games in the Prem!!

You want to see Jermaine Jenas drooling as he watches Chris wilder pull it off?
I’ve met some sick puppies in my life but that takes the jizz biscuit

To rock up to Monday night footy with my Sheffield born mates who all support Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal and be able to join in the conversation.
I’d just yawn at them and say you smell “plastic” burning. Also “football” isn’t a TV programme.

Because it seems it’s the only way CW is gonna get any decent money to spend on transfers.

Because winning all the time is better than losing or drawing all the time

At half time at the last game of the promotion (this?) season, we can watch CW AK, " the zone man who's the zone man?"

So that we can go 10 games unbeaten, then go to Old Trafford and win and finally exorcise that fucking George Best goal from my memory!

Just adding to the above. October 2nd 1971 was the peak of my Blades supporting career! 2 weeks after my 18th birthday - we were unbeaten after 10 games, we were the top team in England and we were off to Old Trafford to play the legends that were Charlton and Best. How excited did I feel waking up that Saturday morning.

We were still top after Best scored ”that goal”, but I have never felt quite that way again - we were marching forward, dreaming of European Cups...

Getting back up that high and a little bit higher, even if just for a moment, would really turn things full circle, and for me would be truly magic.

We could get photos of their players and stuff?

because we support sheff utd, we aren't allowed to enjoy any other team play football. I still have great memories of seeing some of the best players in world coming to Bramall lane Drogba, Fabregas, Ferdinand, Gerrard, Giggs, Lampard, Rooney, Robben, Scholes, Van Persie, Vidic in 2006/07. & of course we will playing to win but you got be realistic. look how theyve destroyed other teams

And I have nightmares about walking out of games, being played off the park, and the proportion of fans that didn’t care because they were star struck.

The chance to compete at the top is slightly appealing. I have no interest in the oppositions players though.

From what I remember last time, the Players were star struck wanting Liverpools shirts .........

Just to shove 6 years of being in the "Pub League" down wendies throat while they have tried to get out of "La Liga" for that amount of time.....and we do it in second season.....
does that qualify.....:D

I'd love it for billy sharp and Chris wilder. I'd love it for the most loyal fans in the country. Mostly I'd love it for my 8 yr old lad who is blades mad and is convinced we can make it to the champions league. It cant be easy supporting unfashionable Sheffield United over here when everyone else follows the so called glamour clubs. Premier league football would reinforce his commitment and reward his unwavering loyalty.

Why do you give a fuck about other clubs players? They could all break their collective skulls in a pile up on the centre spot for all I care, I support Sheffield United, that’s all. But please, educate me, why should I be bothered about other teams?

Because every game I go to, I want us to win. If that happens more than it doesn't, we will get promoted, and I will get incredibly drunk and be very very happy.

On a more serious note, because if we don't do it soon then the chance to go up and stay up will be gone forever in my opinion. The financial gap gets bigger and bigger every year, not only to the top 6, but to the premier league as a whole. Whatever your thoughts on McCabe are, he won't be here forever, and maybe, just maybe, if we were to become an established PL team we might just eventually get an owner like the sadly recently-departed chap at Leicester. Not saying we'll ever win the PL (we won't) but someone who could turn us into a top 10 team without financially crippling the club, maybe with the occasional foray into the Europa league and possibly even a cup win one day?

Really though, I want us to go up because promotion days are wonderful. I remember being in a packed pub full of Blades when the final whistle went as Leeds and Reading drew 1-1 on April 15th 2005, and the pandemonium and joy that followed. More recently, I remember drinking in the sun at the lane, watching as Leon and Fleck sent us up at Northampton on the big screens, then getting home, plastered, and watching the videos of the lads arriving back at the lane. Then a couple of weeks later watching CW almost drop the trophy off the top of a bus under the influence of Peroni. I want another day like those days, and I want it with a Blade as manager and a Blade as captain.

Because i like watching football. Now i dont deny its highly possible you can love sheff utd but hate football, Now thats fine.

But i like sheff utd & i enjoy football, i like to marvel at messi skills or silva de bruyne modric iniestia fantastic passing. Probally took nearly as much enjoyment from the e entertaining liverpool v man city games last season as i did the sheffield derby. & why would you not want to see the world class players at bramall lane in person
