"Realistic" ?!?!?!?!
If Villa stay down of course any championship player is realistic. Will we sign him? No he’d cost too much. But we could afford it both wages and transfer fee wise if we pushed the boat out.

So he’s the one realistic signing I’d ‘love’ more than any.

If you think ANY championship player is realistic for us just because we've gone up you must be crazy.
‘Just because we’ve gone up’... what a statement.

We could sign any player in the championship we want if we pay the going rate and the wages they want. We’re 180mil richer straight away. Every player in that division would jump at the chance to be in this one.

Aye & there are are another 19 clubs that have (at least) identical (financial) 'pulling power'as us - believe it or not even IF we are willing to pay the "going rate(s) some players will choose not to sign for us ! - Grealish would (more than) likely be one if Tottinghams apparent interest is anything like accurate ( irrespective of any alleged 'buy out 'clause)

I think you're underestimating both his value and wage demands.

The £180m myth goes on. Its bollocks. Please stop it. Our share will be around £100m and subject to variables.

The Manchester clubs were the highest paid last season and both were under £150m.

Watford, Brighton and Southampton all got around £107m. That’s much nearer the mark for us.

If You had to pick one realistic player I’d love us to sign this summer, who would it be?

Mine would be Callum Robinson over a Preston.
Good idea. Would cost around £10M which is better than paying that for someone like forestieri.

Good post Pinchy.

The £180m is possibly what we’re guaranteed even if we go down; around £100m this year, then however many years of Parachute Payments.

Perhaps so. I hope we don’t get parachute payments for a very long time. In any event, it seems some contributors think we get it (and want us to spend it!) in advance...
