I know, I remember watching the reel for him thinking that I wasn’t able to see what everyone else was getting excited about.

Wonder love to know who’s responsible for him being identified as what we needed, and did they ever watch him play. Because he’s one of the most ponderous players I’ve seen, and has been brought into a country that plays probably the fastest high tempo football.

Just caught up with this. Great interview. Great professional. Great player.

That bit where he talks about his issues leaving Brighton and through to our first Prem season is incredible. Proper sliding doors stuff. I remember watching his first game against Hull with my oldest lad and we were both shaking our head and laughing at how brilliant he was in that game. I’m with George saying it is one of the best debuts ever! Yes, he missed the pen, we actually predicted it cos, y’know, Sheffield United.

The rest is history. Loved his ‘glint in the eye’ comments that the players (and the fans) had for those glorious ‘best ever’ seasons.
