When we started putting results together at the end of the season it was brilliant, Leeds and Watford kept shedding points. I seem to remember there were several rounds of matches in a row where we won and they both failed to.

I can't remember that Watford side other than tearing us apart at the Lane, maybe they were on a wing and a prayer to be up there at all. Leeds around that time were just choke artists, even more than we were at the time. That play-off final against Donny being the best example.

All that matters about that Watford side is that they took El Hoofo's Leeds team to the cleaners in the play off final :)

Aye that's true, puts anything else in the shade really!

I do recall in the Premiership we hammered them away for 90 minutes missing a boatload of chances only to score with a decidedly offside looking winner.

I was on a plane when that game was played. Proper burst out laughing when I lined up in the arrivals hall and my phone came back to life. :D

Yep, it was Morgan's header from a free kick in the last couple of mins, which came back off the bar for Webber to knock in just in front of goal. He was clearly offside.

We also beat them 1-0 at the end of April at the Lane (our only double that season) and on 38 points with two games to go, we all thought we were safe....

I watched the Watford - Leeds play-off final at Laycock's Sports Club on Archer Road and the whole place burst into cheers when the camera panned around to show all the crying Leeds fans. It's the first time everyone in there agreed on anything.
