We lost to Wolves, 2-0. Our 7th defeat in 9 games. It was our 6th straight defeat, which left us bottom of the table. David Weir only managed one more league game after this: a 1-1 draw to Crawley at home, in front of a 15,401 attendance.

It's not an excuse for us to role over to Liverpool today, but the fact we'll be playing the European champions, in front of double the crowd, makes you realise how far we've come - especially when you consider we spent another 2 and a half seasons treading water in league one, after Weir's departure.

Enjoy the game today and enjoy the season - anyone who went to Molineux that day or saw us scrape a point against Crawley deserves it.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Marlon King's equaliser against Crawley was his last goal in football, and his only goal for the blades before being later imprisoned for an ice-cream related dangerous driving incident that saw him jailed for 18 months.

The Marlon King goal against Crawley was the strangest goal I've ever seen us score at Bramall Lane.

Half of the crowd didn't even cheer.

Funnily enough, I remember thinking the same thing.

Possibly to do with King himself? He got a few boos in some of his appearances for us - can't think why? 🤔
