I thought it was a good game between two very organised sides. Despite the round pegs in square holes defence they never really troubled us all match and Wes had little to do other than a couple of routine catches. I'm certain that we would have either maintained our lead or extended it had Hecky not taken Doyle off and taken Berge off instead. Norwood stopped being as effective as soon as Doyle went off. We were fine yesterday and created some good chances which were wasted. Berge came close in the first half, Ndiaye missed two great chances, Brewster and Sharp wasted two others and McBurnie headed one straight down the middle at their keeper. I can remember these but none from Birmingham immediately spring to mind.
Subbing off Khedra made sense as he was ineffective, but an experiment yhat arguably needed to happen. Who else was going to play there? McBurnie, as he was a red card waiting to happen, so he had to come off, despite the goal. As for Doyle, that was plain baffling, likewise putting Bogle left and not Baldock.
