If he’s happy I’m happy. Big game on Tuesday though & no excuses

International break has done nothing for us other than giving a few injured players time to recover.

I thought some of our players just looked a bit tired yesterday. There didn’t seem to be much energy about us for most of the match.

Agree, I’m not sure how much we can freshen it up though over the next few days. Maybe Anel is closer to returning by Stoke (3 weeks since injury).

McCall said the cavalry is around 4 weeks off 3 weeks ago.

Qpr have a lot of technical players & I think it’s a game McAtee could thrive in

QPR will do exactly the same thing early goal for us is crucial
I don't think they will - they're bloody dangerous and on good form away, I think they'll come at us. That gives us room too, but I reckon it'll be a different game altogether.

I thought it was a good game between two very organised sides. Despite the round pegs in square holes defence they never really troubled us all match and Wes had little to do other than a couple of routine catches. I'm certain that we would have either maintained our lead or extended it had Hecky not taken Doyle off and taken Berge off instead. Norwood stopped being as effective as soon as Doyle went off. We were fine yesterday and created some good chances which were wasted. Berge came close in the first half, Ndiaye missed two great chances, Brewster and Sharp wasted two others and McBurnie headed one straight down the middle at their keeper. I can remember these but none from Birmingham immediately spring to mind.

Subbing off Khedra made sense as he was ineffective, but an experiment yhat arguably needed to happen. Who else was going to play there? McBurnie, as he was a red card waiting to happen, so he had to come off, despite the goal. As for Doyle, that was plain baffling, likewise putting Bogle left and not Baldock.

We normally lose after the international break, so it's a point gained for me. It's always a shit game against Birmingham anyway. They don't seem to have changed their approach much in the 30 odd years I've been going, since the 80's days of Ron Saunders thuggish teams.

Some teams will come to BDTBL and do what Brum did today because they know if they try to beat us by playing football, then there's only gonna be one winner ! Some of our players have got to have more discipline though (RND & McBurnie in particular) as that could cost us. Stop getting involved and walk away as that is exactly the reaction they are looking for to get somebody sent off. Another ref could have sent either of those 2 off and in a match like that you have to keep McB on the pitch to help at the back from set pieces/corners etc.
Ndiaye as well

Wants to square up every fucking time

It's great to see such fight in a player like him, and it's largely why he's going to the top, but he has to moderate himself because he's going to lash out and get sent off soon

Agree…..if you look at the stats and read the QPR forum they’ve always played an open attacking game away from home.

It will be very different to the other home matches where teams are set up very defensive trying to frustrate us.
Will be more like the Sunderland game where QPR (like Sunderland) shoe ambition and have a go at us.
QPR beat Watford 3-2 at their ground by being positive, they’ll try the same against us, should be plenty of goal mouth action.

If it means the lads are playing with a fire in their belly and giving 110% on the field I'm happy for them to show a bit of aggro on the field.

Prefer that then asking them to tame it down at the risk of them going a bit flat.

I prefer a player who's willing to go in and fight for the club and teammates rather than someone who's just a bit meh when something kicks off.
