Just taking a moment to say thanks for putting something together that will quantify how spineless football fans can be.

Here before Iliman Ndiaye, here after Iliman Ndiaye.

Up the Blades, whatever division we're in or not in, however much money we have or don't have, however many tickets we've sold or haven't, whichever players we have or haven't got, whichever glamorous teams we do or don't play.

Edit - I'm really sad he's going. He was so much fun to watch. I'll really miss not having that in future and will cherish the bits we had for a couple of years.

But does it threaten and undermine the existence and future of the club? JFC no.

Until we know if we're bringing anyone in, fuck knows. It was shite when Deane went and we replaced him with Flo. But we might not even be looking at that.

What we'll miss isn't just his skill and threat- he was f***ing amazing at pressing and winning us possession in the opposition third and was such an outlet, so bloody strong. He did an awful lot of defending from up top.

If we do still have the lion's share of the £20m (if that's true) we had to spend, plus this amount, and our loans available within that, who knows? In a month we might have a left sided centre half, a midfielder or two and a striker and give ourselves half a shout in a league with other poor teams too.

Or if we don't, we'll be bleeding awful.

I think we were already "fucked" before we sold our best asset, but like Dave Bassett told the muppets who sold Deane in 1993 while he was on holiday "you've just cost us relegation"

Back then we "reinvested" by signing donkey Flo, we ultimately drew a whole host of games and went down on the last day Deane would have guaranteed us 8-15 more goals easily.

This time we have had to sell Illy cos the Prince is basically hawked up to the eyeballs in debt so any reinvestment won't even buy a donkey Flo type

Yeah we are fucked

He was that glimmer of hope that's now being extinguished

That said its pretty sad we were pinning most of our survival hopes on him. Being heavily reliant on one player isn't good because they can even be sold or worse get injured. It will be interesting to see how Palace do without Zaha as well.

If there is one thing the Wilder model proved pre COVID is that we didn't have to rely on one single player to win games for us.

Its not great news, but let's be fair,he could have got a cruciate injury first game out and we'd be equally fucked anyway.
It's put a dampener on my day, but what's done is done. I'm not going to cry over it, it's not like it's the first time this has happened to us is it?

Don't get me wrong, it was always going to be a struggle without him, but he's the one player who could turn a game on his own, take that away and we're just well organised and hard working.

We'll see lots of one or two nil defeats that could have been wins or draws with illy here

I think if I am being honest it’s the difference between being relegated on about 30 points and now being relegated on about 20 points.

Illy was the one bright spark to look forward to this coming season, now a long dismal season of losing practically every week looms without even the joy of watching one of the best players we have ever had

Maybe so but also we do need to see who we actually bring in as well. I was worried last season that we relied too much on certain players especially Illy.

Everyone had their heart in their mouth yesterday when Illy was on the end of a heavy challenge. That's really what we are banking on? a fully fit Ndiaye for the whole season?

Jeez 43% rate 10! Our fanbase is quite negative isn't it! It's not going to be an easy season of course, but it's a bit demoralising to see people writing it completley off before we've even kicked a ball and the transfer window is closed... This Huddersfield team in 2017-18 wasn't exactly a good team on paper apart from Billing and they finished 16th. Meanwhile Leicester had a number of quality players, a big wage bill, top notch facilities and got relegated last season. Football's a funny game sometimes. If you do think we are 10/10 fucked though, you can get 4.6 odds on us to finish bottom on Betfair still right now - decent value! 😉

If you think we'll bring anything resembling quality in, I admire your optimism

Well we thought Doyle and Macca were shit at the start of the last season until they showed their quality mid way through the season.

We also had no clue who the fuck that Anel Ahmedhodžić was.

I thought we had a 20% chance with Illy so now about a 10% chance

Actually we're selling him because he wants to go,the club have been trying to shut the stable door after the horse has bolted, we should have had the foresight to see his true potential & given him a 5 yr deal, instead we gave him 3k a week, he owes us nothing & has royally entertained us for 2 seasons & helped us back to the Premier League, good luck Illi 👍

Ah fair enough then 👌

Can someone please send me a link to an official source that says he is defo going to marseille. All i have seen so far are fake accounts and the usual news sources who keep being wrong.

The problem is you could just about accept spending near enough fuck all as we had Ndiaye who could win us matches single-handedly.

Losing our best player by a country mile has left the strategy and transfer business looking too cheap, too risky and too little of it.

I just don't see how we score goals. That's a big problem for a football team.
Even if Ndiaye stayed I can't see us scoring many goals. McBurnie scored 6 in his first Premier League season then only 1 the season after. He only scored 13 league goals least season, which is good but not setting the Championship alight. He wasn't even in the top ten top scorers in the division and now he's our main hope for goals in the Premier League again. What was that phrase Einstein came out with about insanity?
