Seems like villa are interested in Olsen as back up to Martinez. Tried to get Randolph apparently, seems a lot of effort to sign a player already on a season long loan just as a back up especially as he has hardly been stand out for us.

However, does this pave the way for a few deals to go through ie Berge then goes to Newcastle for the touted £20m + Woodman which then leaves us a bit of a budget for the Souttars and Styles targets we have allegedly got.

I know its a bit finger in the wind but surely if Olsen stays we've no need for a new GK/couldn't afford another on the books and non of the other players Newcastle are apparently willing to offer are of any interest really.

Is Sander leaving worth all/any potential incomings?

Olsen to Villa, Berge to Newcastle for £20m, Woodman in as part of the deal, McBurnie to Burnley for £5m and off the wage bill, decent defender, (maybe Souttar) and Callum Styles in.....

If Carlsberg did transfer windows...

Could he play for Villa? Has he already played for Roma?
I'm not sure on the ins outs of international loans.

Talk about reputation preceding a player. I can't remember being so underwhelmed by a player as Olsen - given his pedigree he should be a standout performer in the Champ.

Being given a route to getting him off the wage bill would be a great stroke of luck for PH. It would put the onus on WF with cover probably needing to be recruited though unless the new ITK is to be believed and Woodman actually joins (which would be a great if so).

Talk Sport reporting discussions with Olsen at an "advanced stage".....if that is the case and he goes, (fingers and toes crossed) we have gone from 4 keepers to 2 in Fodders & Eastwood so must be looking to bring a new No1 in during Jan....

We will have got out of jail if someone comes in and takes this lad off our hands 6 months early. He's looked a liability from his debut onwards and is also seemingly injury prone. For the wages he is no doubt on, it would be fantastic news for him to go elsewhere. Plenty of keepers on the lower leagues who are far better than him. The Millers keeper just down the road for starters.

I'm 99.9% sure Olsen is a better keeper than Foderingham but this would be a major stroke of luck if it pans out. We don't need to be paying Premier League wages for a keeper while we're a midtable Championship team, especially as Foderingham has been basically fine and Olsen has played poorly if at all.

Probably will need to bring in yet another keeper as backup though.

I don’t mind Olsen going as he’s been crap but he was signed as number 1, are we really gonna trust Wes Foderingham for the rest of this season? It would basically mean we’ve sold Ramsdale and not replaced him which would’ve been seen as unforgivable in the previous window.

Also don’t we have an option on Olsen for the summer? If you agree a loan with option to buy, pretty standard that these loans don’t include a recall clause even if the option isn’t mandatory. Imagine Olsen was performing extremely well and we were just allowing Roma cash in early after we’d already agreed a deal. I’m sure the board would’ve faced more scrutiny on that if Olsen was in form.

If Olsen would have been in form I would not have expected us to release him from his contract.

He could be talking nonsense obviously but Darren Smith the only slither of ITK we get nowadays is saying on Twitter that it’s not our decision whether Olsen stays or not, implying that Roma have a recall clause.

Wes has been better between the sticks for us, for whatever reason, so having him continue to do that doesn't cause major concern, for me at least.

Apologies, as you say does seem daft as we were supposed to have an option but either way I am sure the vast majority of Blades hope that he moves. I honestly cannot see Eastwood being any worse than him.

Has he gone yet...? And if not, why not..... Boooooooooooooooo

Wes is like Robinson, only ever minutes away from a clanger.....signs of that against Wolves on Sunday and he was also flapping around like a seagull at times v Fulham but got away with it....yes he's done OK since he came back in but if we are serious about gatecrashing the play-offs we need better. Olsen can certainly fuck off as far as possible, how he is no1 for his country I will never know, poorest keeper at BDTBL for a long time....

Either way we need a third keeper if Olsen goes and it has to be someone better than Wes for me......Woodman on loan with an option to buy makes a lot of sense.
