Doesn't sound to me like the purse is closed

“It’s a different market and you have to look at that. We’ve made one big signing this summer and I’m delighted we’ve made it.”
He says both “one big signing” and “our big signing” not that that clears anything up

Wilder says we've made our big signing, non starter.

When it comes to transfers, Wilder is a master of the dark arts and he will lose no sleep over telling big fibs to the media.

He is as canny and astute as they come when the transfer windows are open - this is one area I wouldn't believe a single word he says.

UTB

I really hope that’s not the case. Now is not the time to return to the McCabe approach of trying to do it on the cheap. Also, if CW was told funds were limited it would be bonkers to spend so much on a keeper. It’s at the other end of the pitch that we need to improve most.

Can he even call Ramsdale a big singing? We've known for 3 seasons we needed a keeper, and we had a sell on clause with him, theres nothing big about it.
Not a big singing WB. Are we in for Daniel James?😉😎

Well let's hope we haven't got through the whole £132.5 million quite yet.

Club was losing money at a rate of knots for the Past 10 years so had to balance the books, losses for the season we came up were £21 Mill. Added to £65 million worth of spending just on transfers. For every £100 we made during the promotion season in 18/19 we were spending £191 on wages alone. Owed £6.5 mill in transfer fees to other clubs. It all adds up, aswell as the monthly payments on the mortgage on the ground alongside a £6 million matchday revenue loss during project restart and for the foreseeable. All adds up

If we only had say £30m to spend it would be lunacy to spend £18m of that on a keeper. So I’m hoping our budget is much higher than that.

Perhaps Kasper is a bit taller ....?
Look out for a 6ft 6” dude next
😀

Wouldn’t worry too much about wilder saying we’ve spent on our big signing.

We’ve bid for cash (allegedly) while knowing we still needed a keeper on a perninant basis.

ramsdale may be our most expensive signing, and actually it would surprise me if he wasn’t. I expect a couple more in the 6-8m range and maybe being allowed to spend what we might make in player sales

Most of the losses over the first 6 of those years were covered by McCabe via his share issues and they were part of the original McCabe/HRH ownership deal.
The assets were bought by HRH via mortgage to be repaid at £10m a year for 5 years.
Most transfer fees are payable over time, not all in one hit.
None of our accounts have ever shown a massive accumulated debt anywhere (but I'm prepared to be corrected by a real life accountant on that!)

All the figures I’ve just stated are in the accounts listed on companies house.

So at present what is our total debt and who do we owe it to?
Sorry - just seen your figure of £21m
That and the staggered transfer payments and the mortgage should be coverall by the PL's £132.6m prize money for last season.

This was from Kieran Maguire on 8th April. Id imagine things will have changed in the time since

Wasn't a large part of the losses due to promotion bonuses?

Promotion bonuses are included in the ratio of wages/income, but yes I can imagine some of the loses came down to bonuses. Was £35 mill overall but £14 Mill of player sales made it £21 Mill loss.

Wages and salaries went up over 21 million so I guess the bonuses were quite large.

So in reality we were losing 10 million a year in the championship and our income has gone up by about 150 million?
Just for clarification I was listing things I know to be true as a breakdown from Kieran Maguire of our accounts published in April. I have no idea where the money goes I was just putting a plausible possibility forward for where it’s gone/going. Do think the statistics are interesting whichever way you swing them

He's not my personal favourite but I still think this is Wilder's top target.

We have been in for him before and surely we must be in a better position than last time to nab him. He will have known of our interest last time and he must have given some positive vibes off about a potential move for us to enquire again.

Brentford are a selling club, but they know how to hold out for big money.
We were front runners for him apparently then all the negativity came out about richer clubs blowing us out of the water. Well, as of yet he's still not left and hasn't been heavily linked with anyone else since.

I think he's our man.
Young, huge potential and sell on value, British, can play up top or just behind and he seems to be improving each season.

The young lad from Liverpool would be a great loan signing, but you can't beat you're own player doing the business.

He’s on my ‘fantasy‘ wish list

What, as in unattainable list?
I would have thought he one of the more realistic targets.
More so than Dennis anyway.
A Breswster loan would probably the most likely though.
