Banana welcome back. We know about the model and in a non-piss taking sense who do you think you can most afford to lose and still improve next season and would Watkins be one of this season? I would think part of being a Bees fan is trying to work this out each season and it clearly worked with More-Pay (TM Roygbiv) where you’ve been stronger.Of course not!![]()

On Watkins I think he’s looked good at times and then I’ve also had doubts about him for us. I’m currently of the mind that he’s not got the raw pace needed to play alongside McBurnie and give us the option we’re sorely missing without Moose. For £18M I thought it’s worth a shot to talk to him and play him either with or as an alternate to McBurnie but at £20M plus I think there are probably better options for us.
I’d still like us to try for Eze for probably half the price.
Nice to see ya back. Forget Watkins what would it take for someone to take Josh DaSilva from you? There's no release clause![]()
Come back in 24 months when he's worth £100m, Thanks.Nice to see ya back. Forget Watkins what would it take for someone to take Josh DaSilva from you?![]()

Brighton or Villa.Heart of hearts, where do you think Watkins will end up?
I think on balance we’re expecting to be out-bid for him either in terms of transfer price or wages given the level of interest in him. Or I am at least.
Watkins never stops running, is often found defending by our corner flag and has played every minute of the season (well give or take 4-5 mins). Our front 3 (as is) interchange positions well and therefore the system suits the players and the players suit the system. He's a model pro. Always learning. And creates no problems. I suspect we will listen to offers over c.£22m* for him having concluded that he isn't going to add much more value playing for us. Our economic interest will then switch to add-ons. Replacing him for single digit millions will be the goal with someone like Toney of Peterborough being prime targets.
I'm hoping we won't lose more than our two marquee players. Replacing Benrahma will be more difficult than replacing Watkins IMHO...and getting strikers is difficult and expensive.
As for "who do you think you can most afford to lose and still improve next season": Pinnock, Raya, Henry, Benrahma, Watkins, Norgaard will be difficult to upgrade on.
*Covid-19 outcomes may vary this. What with Prem TV deals requiring refunds to Sky (and various overseas broadcasters) etc, we are in a different place when it comes to valuations.
There's so many rumours, and so few bidsHave you heard the rumour that Leicester are after Rico Henry?
Don't entirely agree with that but don't think Watkins is what we need now. Benrahma would be if he hit the target more.Don't think either Watkins or benrahama are anything other than decent championship players who on the evidence I've seen would be easily dealt with by premiere league defences
Int pub?Watkins at 18m Benhrama at 35m and Buendia at 12m hmmmm I know where I would spend my money.......
Spot on. I’ll resist my daily moan about the flat 3 and just say that if we can get Moose fit and content, then finding a creative spark in midfield gives us more bang for our buck.i think we need to massively improve our service before we think about players like watkins. We dont create anywhere near enough opportunities. Even with our current forwards we could score a lot more with more creative/technical players in our squad.
is his goal tally this season any different to mcburnies when we signed him?
In the same imaginary place you made those prices up ?Watkins at 18m Benhrama at 35m and Buendia at 12m hmmmm I know where I would spend my money.......
Don't think he's coming to our club
But I am wondering who the fk this "close" next signing is?
Lionel Messi. 500k on 20k a week.. we bamboozled him into thinking we were the "massive" so he jumped at the chance to play at the cesspit... No no sorry, I meant old lady.Don't think he's coming to our club

Jags on a 1-year deal.
That is not a transfer. Article says breakthrough in the transfer market

Would love it if Watkins came to us. Can play as a cam, cf and St, so would be perfect in Didzy's role.Don't think he's coming to our club

What a brilliant piece of analytical writing. With all due respect to most the incoherent drivel produced on this board by us that is a literary masterpiece of football analysis.Ollie Watkins: The Answer to Sheffield United’s Striker Predicament - Breaking The Lines
Sheffield United’s return to the Premier League exceeded even the most hopeful Blades fans's expectations. Most had predicted them to finish bottom of the league, and whilst a large majority applauded Chris Wilder in returning them to the top division for the first time in 13 years, it was...breakingthelines.com
