No you wouldn’t! Norwood is the engine room of the team. He makes things tick. whether he scores or not he’s the first player on the team sheet. Top player!!!

He isn't advocating dropping Norwood. He's been one of our best players this season, possibly the best.
He's just for letting someone else have a go at free kicks.
I agree. Norwood's record is atrocious. Never makes the GK work.

When I say let someone else have a pop, I mean at taking free kicks at goal not someone take his place on the park

For all his good work around the pitch, his pops at goal are crap.

I would let McAtee have ago and possibly Baldock, or Doyle, or Fleck, depending on who’s on the pitch?

Let’s be reyt, they couldn’t do much worse could they?

He is just a very good footballer. Fantastic bit of business from United when they signed him. Can go missing in a game at times and can have the odd game where he is bloody awful, but he more than makes up for those bad days at the office with many more good days.
I agree with the odd bad game where nothing goes well, he rarely goes missing though. Even on his bad days he is one that keeps demanding the ball and stays involved.

I have the same sentiments as you, I hope that he is here for a while, he makes us tick

We need to get his contract sorted or we could lose him

The issue with Norwood is that due to his age, he'll never have any transfer value...so we can afford to let him run down the contract.

He might be valuable to us but he's only had 1 decent season in the Premier League in his whole career.
Most managers that were promoted from the Championship got rid because they deemed him not good to play in the Premier league,
in his last season for us he struggled there, like many of our other players.

Basically you can guarantee no Premier League clubs will offer Norwood a contract
however there should be plenty of Championship clubs interested in him.

If we promoted we can outbid all these Championship clubs, so if we're promoted and want him next season, he's ours.
If we fail to be promoted then we'll struggle to afford him, we'll need to drop his wage to £10K max, then it's possible another Championship might offer slightly more.

Another scenario that might happen is if we do acquire an ambitions owner then he might be hoping for better than Norwood.

My point is regards Norwood, it's SUFC that hold the power, no rush on our part
however regards N'Diaye it's the opposite, it's the player that holds the power.

We need to get owners who can afford to pay people, otherwise we could lose many of them 😉

Not sure if people understand the situation regards parachute payments.
If we fail to gain promotion....our salary cap is significantly reduced. We will no longer be able to offer any players good contracts.

Even if we acquire the richest man in the world as owner...that owner might be able to easily afford to pay all our players £50K a week
However due to FFP rules this won't be allowed, there will be a new set of rich parachute ex PL clubs in the division
So we we will struggle financially to complete financially with several other Championship clubs.

Also regards our players who are out of contract.....no other PL is interested in them because they're all classed as decent/ good Championship players.
So there's nothing to worry about. If we are promoted we will be competing against Championship clubs for their signatures.

Said it before and will say it again. The kid is a baller and we should enjoy him because when he’s gone I think a lot of his detractors will notice his replacement cannot influence a game the way this guy does.

People still don't appreciate him because he has that 1 bad day at the office in like 15 games.

I will really miss him when he has gone and other fans will because they will finally see how difficult he is to replace.

Excellent player, great technique. Improved his tackling and intercepting massively as well, needs legs around him but if he plays well we win.

An underestimated factor in our success this season has been set pieces, in all departments. We give very little away defensively, but also with the deliveries

This is not only Norwood, but mainly him. I don't remember our set piece deliveries being so consistent. You can pretty much bet that it'll be a 7/10 delivery every time. We don't let the opponents off the hook easily, they always have to work and defend. Might seem like quite a marginal thing but it adds up to a lot

Norwood generally is better than ever. Defensively but also with his composure and awareness in which way to turn. More than anything maybe, I think he seems less of a confidence player than before - he's just always on the level and that's it

I think he is taking some guidance from McCall as well. He certainly gets stuck in to the tackle a lot more these days.

bad day at the office for several players, one of those games where little flicks and runs failed and every bounce fell nicely for them
we can't grumble we've benefitted in a few games

just got to file it away and go for 3 more points next game
in the 2006 promotion we got tonked 4-1 at home by Watford in February but still went up
apart from Burnley we dont face anybody near as good as Boro were on the night but they will drop points as we created plenty last nught even being average

they are on a similar run as we had last season and we only finished 5th

Bad day at the office all round, yep Norwood was poor (not the only one!) but he’s having a great season, it’s also not that much of a coincidence that a few players ‘had a bad game’ when we played against a team that has won 100 games in a row - they make us look worse.

We still have this well in our hands. We have a good enough side to be able to get 10 more wins at least (not that I think we will need 10).

I think part of the reason Norwood had a poor game was because Carrick (like most PL managers) know that if you can close Norwood down by putting 2 men on him when it matters they stop United’s momentum and control. Our other midfield players should have taken advantage of the extra space for them but they were unable to and without Doyle there was no ‘minder’ to help Norwood. I still remember how much work Hockey and others did to help Currie in his prime.

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned but did anyone see McCall seemingly going apeshit with him before bringing him off?

I am a big fan of Norwood, a great player for us but he had an off day yesterday. For me, when we went 1 up he misplaced 3 long passes in a row and that kind of gave them confidence and possession. After that they started to dominate as they could put 2 on Ollie and we had no alternative ball this time. It happens, we're still looking good and he will be back on it at the weekend I'm sure. UTB

Three of his Hollywood passes. For the first time in a while he struggled to get back when beaten.

This is exactly what last night was, Norwood has been one of our top 3 players this season, I predict a response Saturday, win early, 10 point gap is there again, let's see what Boro can do then
