£10m offer in apparently, so hope this comes off.

My guess is this is the low bid we hope to get a player for. but usually, clubs reject the first offer and it goes from there. Who knows, but Mcburnie may well be cheaper than Maupay who I always thought would be nearer to £20m.

Of course, we need two forwards so I wonder who the other will be; it's probably unlikely we'll get McBurnie and Maupay sadly.

Wouldn't it be wise to pay the asking price for either Maupay/McBurnie than risk losing out on both?

Maybe we don't know the asking price and its just a case of bidding until Swansea or Brentford accept the bid. Or maybe we know the asking price but we can't afford it! I totally get your logic though.

£10m?

No chance.

Smacks of the “well we tried for a few but.. ” days.

Bet Nixon says Maupay close this afternoon after hes been on here.

Bump. I'm commenting on this just to draw attention away from another thread that has become infested by bees. It's for our own good. Let's just talk about McBurnie for a bit and maybe it will be a welcome distraction for us all.

Would be very happy with Mcburnie being the one we got out of two

Still holding out hope for both though, just wish the Maupay saga would pissing end

I want us to sign McBurnie but regarding the comments about Brighton and why havent they come in for him...one thing hasn't been mentioned....maybe Potter has seen enough of him to think he wont cut it at premiership level.

I think him and Maupay are the best we can hope for but I wish wed get at least one of them signed sharpish!

What Potter sees and Wilder sees are incomparable.

Out of the two (McB and Mau), and if i could only choose one, id prefer us to sign McB, as i think he would be a real player for us next season and can do the link up play as well as the centre forward role too. He would be be my number 1 target.

That said i want us to be greedy and get both of them. They would both serve us well and be real assets for us.

Be bold Utd and get both in, even of we have to pay a little more than we would ideally like too. Their goals could well keep us up and faint heart never won fair lady.

Of all the players we have been linked with Mcburnie is the one I'd prefer them to get. I think he's got a bit of everything and is still young enough to improve further.

He replaces Madine/Clarke out of last years squad and is a significant upgrade on those 2 in my opinion.

We'd still need to replace Hogan and Washington from our promotion run in team but this would be a very good start to the forward line remodelling we need to do.

We need to swallow our pride if we are quibbling over minute details. If we want these two then we need to get deals done and done quickly. Otherwise we will be dragged in to the last chance saloon with the other desperados but they will have bigger funds than us and we will end up leaving with a “2 o’clocker”

I have to say, I watched the clips of McBurnie and the lad does seem to be good in the air and a very confident finisher. However, he does seem to run a bit funny, don't you think?

I honestly think he is the nearest thing I've seen to Brian Deane, in style of play.

Would be my number 1 target too. Probably easier to prise away from his club given Swansea’s reported financial issues.

Stick me in the McBurnie Number 1 club as well. That's been the case for me since the day we were promoted.

Goals, an aerial target, link up play, flexibility and youth. A great one to build the forward line around.

Thought he'd be Wilder's number 1 as well but maybe that's Maupay.
