Agree with the last 2 comments...Brighton are my favourites for relegation this season. Inexperienced manager, big squad with overpaid foreigners who dont give a @@@@ and their only goalscorer Murray isnt getting any younger. However Brighton would be a nice place to live, on the coast, by the south downs and a trendy, cosmopolitan air about it.

Why does being foreign mean you don’t give a shit? There has been plenty of English players over the years who couldn’t give a fuck about their clubs!

Can only assume we’ve made another offer before this one because there’s absolutely no way we’d have gone in with an initial offer of £15m. That would be stupid

And most foreign players concentrate far more than their British counterparts have tended to do on living the life of a professional athlete with regard to diet etc although that culture is improving these days.

Ask Sunderland fans about Rodwell

Top quality ground, quality training facilities, serious backing and close proximity to the London bubble with all attractions that goes with it for a young lad with huge money.

You’re foolish if you genuinely believe McBurnie will consider our achievements in the 1960s / early 70s or that we once got 60,000 in the 1950s being material to his decision.

I agree. Learning his trade under the wing of the legendary Glen Murray will be decisive.

Blades fans. Relentlessly seeking inferiority since 1889.

Very good signing imo. Similar to JoC but not up to that standard yet. Still got huge potential and a long time to show it.
We’ll pick him up next season when they’re relegated and if he’s proven he’s comfortable at this level.

He’s from Leeds. Gets to move home and play in the premiership. He should start more for us than for Brighton.

Plus we are a selling club he does well he will leave for 25m. Where as Brighton will play hard ball and ask for 50m so he doesn’t move.

I really don’t get this about McBurnie. Admittedly I’ve only ever seen him for Swansea at Bramall Lane, but he was anonymous apart
from scoring a tap in. He wasn’t particularly, fast, tricky or physically imposing, didn’t cause us any
problems and was rarely on the ball. In my opinion from what I’ve seen he’s nowhere near good enough to get in our team :(
He played for Barnsley on loan and looked a cut above the rest inc the Blades in 17/18 season

Indeed. Someone is going to give us a dicking next season, that’s pretty much a given. Teams like Man City may well hammer us like a cheap tent peg. But several someones are going to get a hell of a surprise when they play us. I think there will be at least three teams shitter than us come next May, and quite possibly more.

Respect all our opponents. But fear none of them.

I could not agree more, especially at home. Teams are going to be in for one hell of a shock at Bramall Lane with our front foot overloading football. Just thinking about it, is making me excited for the start of the season. Wilder will be in his element plying his trade against the best in the world

If anyone thinks it's only some foreign players that are over paid dickheads that dont care about the fans or the club, they obviously dont read the news much.

The state of the moral outrage about Lingard these past few days.

He dresses like a twat... and is pretty fucking irritating, but that's about it.

Something very Sterling-esque about this reaction.

Why? They are a nonentity of a club who have spent the vast majority of their existence in Divisions Three and Four. They will be heading downwards sooner rather than later. Bladey Inferiority Complex alive and depressingly active.

Brighton? Fucking Brighton?

In Brighton's favour.

1. Been in the prem a few years
2. For mcburnie, a chance to work with the manager he did well with last season
3. Popular location for a place to live.
4. A 'growing' club (new ground, establishing in the prem etc).
5. Will probably pay more than us
6. No ownership struggles.

In our favour
1. Historically a bigger club
2. One of the best managers in the country
3. On an upward trajectory with a great dressing room
4. Excellent style of football likely to appeal to any incoming striker.
5. Chance to move closer to home (in mcburnies case).
6. Continuity in that we've not just had a manager change.

All just depends on which of those factors are most important to him I guess.

The outrage is ridiculous. Can imagine the main thing is It’s because they’re not winning trophies. If they were winning, nothing would be said. He’s 27 on holiday with his mates, that’s it.

So you’re saying it’s racist?

For the vast majority of modern day players, [5] the only one that's relevant these days

It's all about £££. Brighton would surely be willing to offer a better wage than us. Tripe like "better history" and "moving closer to home" (having previously accepted a move to Swansea) aren't as significant as some want to believe.

Objectively speaking - Brighton would seem the better option for him. Higher salary and a better location. He’s still pretty young, being close to him shouldn’t be too much of a priority at this stage of his life. Fingers crossed he thinks differently.

Stop it with your positivity, it’s frowned upon on here.

A proper football ground, with proper fans blasting out Greasy Chip Butty song will intimidate some of the teams indeed.

That's weird. Are you saying that everyone who dislikes 'J Lingz' must dislike Sterling too?

I'm 46, remember Brighton in an FA Cup final, they've probably had similar amount of top flight seasons as us in my lifetime, and get similar crowds now they've got their new ground.

No need for the disrespect in my view.

Have we been linked with him previously (last season?)? He's the kind of player I thought we might be looking to bring in as competition/back-up but I guess we're unlikely to have that kind of money for squad players.
