My gut feeling is he'll follow Potter to Brighton. McBurnie seems to have a lot of respect for him, plus I reckon they can throw more money at him than we can
I’m not sure about that. They’ve not been in the PL that long and haven’t had big player sales to boost their coffers. I suspect it’s down to whether he wants to move back up north or fancies life on the south coast.
Wilder has a good reputation and we’re known for our team spirit.
Brighton are as likely as us to go down.

Not much in it.

Agree with the last 2 comments...Brighton are my favourites for relegation this season. Inexperienced manager, big squad with overpaid foreigners who dont give a @@@@ and their only goalscorer Murray isnt getting any younger. However Brighton would be a nice place to live, on the coast, by the south downs and a trendy, cosmopolitan air about it.

Brighton are a strange one...

Very solid defensively but wasted a shed load of money on players who got no where near their starting line up last season.

That said they have plenty of quality in and around their line up.

Brighton would be able to offer him significantly more money in wages. Depends where his priorities lie.

Karma really, we hugely underpaid for Norwood, so we'll overpay for McBurnie.

Going to be an interesting decision where he decides to go if it's between Utd and Brighton...

Brighton (likely to be more money on offer, Potter, most people would agree it's a nicer city) v Utd (closer to family, Wilder factor, better supporters/atmosphere).

Why would Potter be waiting around?

He has to do better than finish 4th bottom is a striker at 15m doing that for you? That’s what got Hughton the sack.

I think he would be a great signing for us.

£15m is £3m higher than the most I'd like us to pay but I wouldn't say no if it meant securing such a key signing.

He'll develop well and be worth more in the future.

Hopefully it would include £3-5m in add ons which we'd be happy to pay.

I think, as things stand, it would be unlikely for a player to choose us over Brighton, but who knows.

Very nearly a cap-doff but I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt.

I’m looking forward to the fear and trembling on here before every single match. Perhaps we could just accept once and for all that all our opponents next season have very good players and could beat us?

Why? They are a nonentity of a club who have spent the vast majority of their existence in Divisions Three and Four. They will be heading downwards sooner rather than later. Bladey Inferiority Complex alive and depressingly active.

Brighton? Fucking Brighton?

Indeed. Someone is going to give us a dicking next season, that’s pretty much a given. Teams like Man City may well hammer us like a cheap tent peg. But several someones are going to get a hell of a surprise when they play us. I think there will be at least three teams shitter than us come next May, and quite possibly more.

Respect all our opponents. But fear none of them.

We're currently odds on and favourites to be relegated (with the bookies)
Brighton > Sheffield
You could argue that their style suits him more. Also Glenn Murray to learn from
I'm pretty sure players don't care about histories of clubs outside of the top few.
The ownership battle will hardly inspire confidence that we're going to splash out to improve the team
They will pay better wages

However, the thing with transfers is that without knowing what the player is like and what he wants then it's impossible to tell.

Exciting team on the way up Vs boring team on the way down, probably equal odds that he'd be contracted to a championship club again in a season, you'd pick us all day long.

Also he's a Yorkshireman, move back home.

The level of love he has for Potter would be my concern.

Anyway, Brighton seem the type to spaff a load on a South American or African up and comer rather than go for Championship players.

Couldn’t agree more. Some of our colleagues, however, will continue to delight in belittling the club they claim to support. Brighton now. Fucking Brighton. Wait till we get to titans like Crystal Palace and Watford. They’ll be tugging forelocks so fervently, they’ll inadvertently scalp themselves...

I’m quite sure the prospect of learning from Glen Murray won’t even flicker into his mind. Van Basten? Müller? For sure. Glen Fucking Murray?

Top quality ground, quality training facilities, serious backing and close proximity to the London bubble with all attractions that goes with it for a young lad with huge money.

You’re foolish if you genuinely believe McBurnie will consider our achievements in the 1960s / early 70s or that we once got 60,000 in the 1950s being material to his decision.

Would learn from Murray but wouldn’t learn from Sharp, yea alright
