Oli

Oli was one of the top strikers in the division last time we were in it. All the stats back that up. Yes his injury record is poor, but when he plays he is excellent at this level.

Having Moore and him together means we can rotate and hopefully manage both of their form and fitness. And if there is a need for us to have two big men on to manage a game, such as defending a lead against a long ball team (which we undoubtedly will in the champ), then you aren’t going to find better than these two.

Sounds good to me.

I would love for someone to point out a better striker essentially on a free transfer in the championship I really would.

Those complaining please point out a better option. I am all ears and willing to change my mind but with Moore here too it means we won't have to risk him when he's not fully fit.

I think some people wilfully forget just how good he was in the last promotion season and his hot streak before the world cup played a huge part in us going up.

‘Was’ one of the top strikers, that when he could play 90 mins and not be permanently on the treatment table.
I would be okay with this on the condition it’s on a pay as you play basis…..

It's an absolute no brainer. Is Worth at least 5 million, so that's 5 million we don't have to spend on replacing him. The rumoured contract length is perfect if we have the right level of ambition once (hopefully) promoted. 2 years and an option. Get promoted, keep for one year, then move on.

I’d sign McBurnie up just to defend corners. 😁

He shows our CB’s up for the amount of headers he wins.

Hi Stegosaurus here

Oh great, Oli McBarndoor is back! That's going to help our promotion chances.

Not even remotely bold prediction.

This resigning would be a big mistake.

A player that has openly admitted to having been wank, and the apologists amongst you still not having it cos y’all know better !😂.

Not queuing up then it would seem. Understand why ?

Here’s hoping it will be 10 mins at the end to defend set plays only cos he slows our overall game down to a snails pace.

Literally the only negative with Oli re-signing is you spamming the forum with your drivel yet again.

If nobody else wants him, as you so regularly state, I'm guessing we've been able to get him for peanuts.
In fact, if he's as bad as you say, maybe we've worked out a deal where Oli is actually paying us to play?

Give your head a wobble.
Great news for the club and 99% of the fans.

A rather gloomy post & outlook.
Given your user-name though, I suppose it’s appropriate.

I know this is the wibbly wobbly world of t'internet where everybody can have a anonymous opinion and pretend to be an expert, but ffs..............

1. Why do people give oxygen to undercover pigs and windup trolls on here? You can just imagine them jizzing in the corner of their mum's back room at every reply.

2. Why can't folk see the overall picture? Yes McB is injury prone and we know won't be available half the time........... so now (hopefully) we only need him half the time. He can start games then go off with equal cover or come on as an impact sub. Who knows, with his injuries managed properly he might even get a new lease of life and regain some consistent fitness. For me, on the deal/wages he will be on, it's a no brainer. He's a character, a leader and I do believe has an affinity to us, so it gives us another 'Blade' in the dressing room. Obviously not Billy levels lol, but I'd rather have him in my corner any time.

No a straw man is intentionally bringing up another point to fit your argument. We are shopping in the freebies market please point out a better one.
The point being you're trying to negate his shortfalls ie lack of availability, fitness, etc with the fact he's "like" a free signing. So yeah, sraw man alert. FWIW I'm not against signing him on a pay as you play contract which given his record is fair enough.

I am astounded given the state of the squad absolutely anyone is moaning about (re)signing one of the most proven centre forwards in the championship.

Especially when we are looking at adding wingers to the mix.

Baffling.

21 games league games last year 38 the year before. I wish our other injury prone players were that injury prone!!

Be interesting to see how Wilder accommodates both Moore and Mcb.

Is Mcb happy to be an impact sub coming on for last 30 mins.

Evidently so.
Probably the other way round.
Should get more games per season out of McB if he isn't trying to get through 90 min games too often. With 2 games per week we'll need to rotate these 2.

Bet ya he bags double figures?

Hi Stegosaurus here

Martin Braithwaite, last at Espanyol in the Segunda Division (the Spanish equivalent of the Championship)
22 goals, 31 appearances.

Get him in.

So not the championship then?

He's played in it before and got 3 in 17 and 5 in 19. He's hardly Ross McCormack.

With Moore now at the club, I can see Mcburnie dropping deeper and playing close to a 10. He's had to play so long with United as a target man on his own. Moore being our natural focal point should mean that we can get more out of Mcburnie and he can be a link man.

I would suggest that we need pace around him though, so a priority for me would be two wingers to compliment the likes of Brooks, O'hare and Osula

Hi Stegosaurus here,

The equivalent of the Championship. He's a perfectly viable option as a free transfer. I expect he'll go to Leeds or a potential rival, whilst we're getting the coppers together to give McBarndoor a contract.

And he then went on to play for Barcelona. Would McBarndoor ever play for Barcelona?
