Great lad, but barely hit a barn door for us. Cost £20 million for the privilege. Our recruitment was so bad that we were desperate to have him back.
Barely hit a barn door.. yet was easily our greatest striker in recent history.

Asked to play as a target man by a dinosaur of a manager. Yet he’s been around the top scorers in the league when played as what he’s actually good at. Go figure.

He'd have been poo for us this season as we were absolutely poo. He'd have scored about 7 goals and probably be injured most of the season. But good on him anyway and congrats to Hull. They showed more fight than us all season and I like their manager and owner.

Shame we didn't re-sign that Egan fella though! 😂

Really pleased for the lad.

Reality is, if wilder was here in the summer, we would have signed him. Selles didn't want him, so we didn't.

If we signed him, we wouldn't have signed Bamford.

Would we have done any better this season with mcburnie instead of bamford? No. Our defence was terrible.
McBurnie was a good defender of crosses.

I was hot and cold about him.
He was excellent in our box at defending corners. Sadly the opposite in opponent box when attacking corners. Too often gobbing off at officials.
However there were times when he scored some crucial goals. Particularly the equaliser against Man Utd.
For a centre forward though he didn't score enough for us. But we didn't exactly always play to his strengths.
Look at how well he's done at Hull this season with the right service.
On a free I think he would have been worth a punt if he'd have come. Certainly a better option than Cannon. ( who may hopefully come good next season)
Would have been interesting to see how well McBurnie and Bamford would work out together up top.
Cannon may hopefully come good next season ??????
Have you ever watched him play ?
McB & Bamford up top ??????
Have we ever played two target men ?

Hull have got the best out of him by doing whatever it took to get the best out of him,and that's what it's all about with your players, getting the best out of them to produce where it matters,on the pitch, and now they have been handsomely rewarded.
Their game management yesterday was a masterclass in how to get through a massive game and come out on top,it might not have been pretty, but for all of Middlesbroughs much hyped so called big players, the ones that ran the show against us s few months ago, they were rendered as paper tigers, while the real tigers in name and players got on with their jobs, held their nerve and took their chance when it came.

Indeed. Nowt really against McBurnie as a player, but I think his success this season, plus some others who have done well, really highlights more a recent inability or unwillingness to play players in positions/systems that suit their strengths and more damningly our woeful recent inability to keep players consistently fit.

Swansea McBurnie went prolific for a bit, in a system that suited him.

United McBurnie, he admitted in his interview yesterday, he wasn't quite ready enough or mature enough to be the main man that we wanted him to be.

Now, he's back in a system that suits him but with added maturity about him.

Is he better than what we have?

Apart from Bamford yes he is.

But we didn’t use him right before and I’m not sure we would again. Hull are getting a tune out of him. I’d say similar about Kieffer Moore

Poo?? Don't you mean shit?? It's not a pig forum..you're allowed to swear.

Last 20-30 minutes of the match today he hardly touched the ball just jogged round pressuring the forwards. Hull going forward he laid off the ball to the left side with Hull in acres of space. He gets in the box cross comes in keeper fumbles it and McB happens to be in the right spot at the right time. A £200 million goal.

That being us we would have been given offside (forget who it was in offside position might have been Gelhart)

Luck ? Skill ? Lets see how he does in the PL.
Thought he was great

This

You could see it unfurling.

Thought Midds were poor - tippy tappy rubbish - toothless .

Well done Hull

Hull weren’t arsed about keeping the ball today, and left him up high (hence the strolling around on the half way line).

His job was holding it up and bringing their runners in when they won the ball back and shoed it up to him, and he did that really well (the goal starts with him doing exactly this).

Fair play Oli. Personally I just think he’s a daft lad, and I’ve a soft spot for a daft lad.

McBurnie, Moore and Brewster have all had significantly more productive seasons after leaving us. There's absolutely nothing saying he'd have produced that kind of output for us.

Annoyed Forest can't still get relegated, their fans are sad pathetic cunts:

What a set of entitled fans. I heard a debate last week on talks£££te after the Celtic / Rangers pitch invasion last week and ‘how long will it be before a player gets injured?’…….. never a mention of the assault on Billy Sharp at Forest that night! That night it was chaos - yet Forest seem to have got away with that - I don’t recall any penalty - stand closure after that.

Also the McBurnie stuff was clearly a distraction by the Plod down there to avoid question being asked about Forest - Plodd shocking behaviour. So I really hope he scores down there for Hull next season.

Just your annual reminder there was still no punishment given to Wednesday for throwing stuff at Brewster.

Oli is not as good as Adams,Dykes, Hirst, Shankland or Stewart according to wee Stevie Clark...
