no , the only thing proved last season was Adkins was a useless twat,
he single handedly made players look worse by having no clue on any formations
dare say some of them will look better used properly , not all of them , obviously

in the same way Woy made the cream of English football look like crewe reserves
I think more accurate to say last season proved Adkins inherited Clough's squad which contained a lot of twats who brought him down. Despite his great record in management (and I do wish him well) he obviously wasn't made of the right stuff to deal with that scenario, and I think what we are starting to see now from Wilder is an object lesson in exactly how to deal with that scenario.
This is becoming his squad already, before a ball is kicked, Adkins failed in that respect. Can't see any mardyarse player getting one over on him and Knill.

“They will still be in league one next year if this is the calibre of lad they’re signing”

Yep.

Folks....although I'm not doing hand stands surely we should let the kid settle and play before we offer judgement.?

Plenty of players go flat and need a change of scenery. Maybe coming to the lane and working with Wilder will bring his best again....he's won a Welsh cap so there must have been some quality there at some point.

If Chris Wilder has signed him, he must believe there is a player there. I'm sure he's well aware of his weaknesses but as is well documented CW is a great man manager and should be able to get the best out of him.

Sounds like wilder signs players who fit his system. I like that approach

So we're still lacking a big dominant centre half leader then! Edgar, Collins, even Basham and McGahey could have been fine next to a lynch pin centre half, sounds like this Wilson is another of that type. If Wilder only has the budget take a punt on lower division underachievers, if he gets 4 centre halves hopefully 2 of them will turn out to be decent.

Obviously mixed opinion here - so do we trust Tufty's judgement?

It's a thumbs - up from me.....
As always time will tell

He's also played for one of the best sides in Europe ;)

CW indicates he knows JW lost his form etc, knows he has to step up to playing for a club like ours. Very Warnock-esque signing IMO.
taking em boxing? Also sounds very Warnock-esque, first thing he did on taking over was organise a training match and he had them almost kicking lumps out of each other - soon sorted out the the team spirit and got them fighting on the pitch again (not talking about the West Brom game either ;) )
