Big Nev was on camera duty or in the loo...Thank you, Pat VDH and Steven was struggling with, amazed Big Nev isn't there.
Either way that was a cracking team.

Alan Harper who ended Wally Downes footballing career in behind closed doors match . A friend of mine who was a bouncer at Josephine's told me of the evening when he had to deal with Wally Downes who threatened Harper at the nightclub. David Hirst and Imre Varadi were involved to keep Downes away from Harper who then caught a taxi home.Stevens and VDH are not there? unless I’m getting Harper mixed up Stevens

Croquette potatoes with roast turkey??!! How quaint! I actually really liked the 70's and don't buy all the "strikes/power cuts/rotting bodies" rubbish that gets put about.

My fiancé worked as a receptionist at the HT hotel back in 1980/83. We went to many events there and always had a great time , until she packed me in for the bell boyWent to a wedding reception at Hallam Towers, the food was superb, I was still eating whilst the dancing started…..
Seems to be a running theme with people called Alan Harper...Alan Harper who ended Wally Downes footballing career in behind closed doors match . A friend of mine (1909 -1989) told me he was coached by George Hirst who was a friendly and approachable man but the same couldnt be said for Wilfred Rhodes who refused to sign an autograph for my friend.
Reading Mr Rhodes, batting and bowling figures many years ago, I would venture, he was the best pro cricketer of all time.
