Have you considered that Bert knows that it's not United but doesn't know which team it actually is?

Hi HighfieldBlade - I lived just nearby the Earl in Guernsey Rd until leaving for Australia in 1964 at age 15. In 1959 after sitting my 11+ exam the education department in their wisdom sent me to Marlcliffe Intermediate school which was on totally the opposite side of town near Hillsborough. Every school morning at about 8am I would catch a bus outside the Earl into Pond Street after which I would then catch another one to Middlewood and school. I first re-visited Sheffield in 2001 to find the whole area had been demolished and vey little of what I remember remained - the Earl of Arundel being a exception.
I think it would be The Wednesday Football Club, not SWFC.Here's swfc fa cup winning team of 1896View attachment 197276
So it's a different trophy
Bert started a different thread a long time ago.

Arce once turned out for Villa youth team alongside Brown and Hole...
True, but it wouldn't really be a kop without it, just a normal stand.View attachment 197622
be nice to have all that spare space under any new kop stand instead of just rubble
all stands have the same rake back where the seats are , and we can hve good quality bogs and bars under cover.. imagine that getting a balti chicken pie and not getting rained onTrue, but it wouldn't really be a kop without it, just a normal stand.

What's the date on the left picture? Must be 60s, I reckon?

Seeing that squad of players does send a shiver down my spine, not in a good way.
The ground is believed to be Highfield Road. Why were they photographed together?

In the 1970s my dad would park his car on that road before our home games.View attachment 197638
Same area. Looking down Asline Rd from Bramall Lane end. White building on right is now James Cycles and the houses next to it demolished and is the Doctors now. On the left still showing houses which is the Lowfield Park/Sports pitches now.
Is that Warnock in the wolves Shirt , with his initials on it ?
