Didn't know this until I watched the latest episode of the repair shop.
A daughter wanted her some of her father's cut-throat razor's repairing, he had been a barber, and she has followed in his footsteps.
The expert said that from the mid 1600's, all cut-throat razors were made in Sheffield.
Stock piling them for future blade bed wetters of the 21st century

I'm on there somewhere, 15 years old, left side of Terrace, with mi mate at that time, Tony Shirt.
Group of us, about 15-20, were gonna wag the afternoon but the headmaster got wind of it and had myself and a couple of other lads in for a, tet-a-tet, giving a named group permission to leave school at lunch time.
A little disgruntled as on the evening t/v news, Tony and I were clearly seen when the Duke was being presented to the players, but not so on this piece of film.
Not to worry, fantastic to see a day to remember at BDTBL.
Crowd looks pathetic but what needs to be remembered is that generally life was much stricter and jobs were much
cosseted, with many ready to step in relieve you of it.
I have no memory of the closed section of the Terrace, which I find very strange, security overload, signifies what the establishment think of Sheffield.
Thanks for the post, extremely enjoyable.

OK, I keep sticking random pictures on but the thread title does say 'for no reason whatsoever' so please bear with me. I have a few autographed boxing pictures and this is up there with my favourites. I love the little note he wrote on this one, and his is a pretty interesting story. The only American boxer to win a gold in the 1972 Olympics, fought the greatest fighter of all time (Marvelous Marvin Hagler) three times including a draw, and was declared legally blind when he retired. Anyway, here you go, Mr. Sugar Ray Seales ladies and gentlemen, not to be confused with the all time great Sugar Ray Robinson and definitely not that circus clown Sugar Ray Leonard.

Dont watch things like that it’s the balancing and the fall of the men if the worse was to happen, wouldn’t like to be on that roof, although have had no problem jumping out of a plane as I know it’s safe.

Coles Corner looks very different these days as does Fargate but was just looking at old pics to see exactly where they were stood and looks like on top of the arched window centre of the building.
