Pre-corner being filled in, if the gate was open you could walk into the ground (and sit in the dug-outs) without an eye-lid being batted.

This really shows how much land there is. With careful planning it's almost possible to build 2 stadiums.

All we would need is to find another club with a decrepit stadium willing to pay us millions in rent.

The photo was also printed in the "50 seasons in 1st division" booklet published in 1968 but the player 2nd from left in centre row was named as "Hall" instead of "Barnshaw".

As a kid, I lived next door to Stan Fazackerley’s widow.
She used to tell me his premature death in the 1940’s was due to heading those wet, heavy leather footballs.
I wonder if she had his 1915 FA Cup winners medal at that time?

Yep, used to do this quite often when I was a kid. And when the gate wasn't open I'd stand on the walls where the Yorkshire Tile Shop is, which afforded a limited view of the pitch.

Extremely interesting from a historical point of view, if ones interested about SUFC's history, which I am.
Also having worked in the construction industry they are doubly so.
I have them on file but not to a resolution high enough to read properly due to my basic computer skills.
