Deffo the 1990-91 season because the Kop became all seater in summer 1991. There is a fan wearing our shirt that was first revealed in summer 1990. It cant be against Man U because it was a February midweek game when we played at home to them.
It’s the Leeds game from early season. Stuart Clark was at the game and took a number of photos that are part of his “Homes of Football” exhibition. The Deane one was part of the exhibition in the football museum in Manchester. I’ve still got a postcard of that one (somewhere...).

Cec Coldwell and Gerry Hitchens. Blades 1 Villa 1 in October 1959. Joe Mercer was Villa's manager at the time and I bet he got a lot of stick from Blades fans cos he left us in December 1958 to go to Villa Park. After confirmation of Villa's relegation from the first division at the end of the 1958-59 season, a Blade fan sent a telegram to Joe which said "Congratulations Joe, you have done it again!"

Chelsea 4 Blades 2 in February 1973. Our sub Dave Staniforth acted as one of the linesmen for the last few minutes of the match. I was supposed to be at the match but on the way to London, my dad's car broke down on the M1 near Leicester. We had to wait ages for the AA repairman to make the car work again. Time was too short for us to carry on the journey to London so we travelled to Filbert Street to see Alan Birchenall score twice in Leicester's 2-0 win against L**ds
