York 3 Blades 4 in October 1981? Mike Trusson two late headed goals! It was my first match of the season and I was at my girlfriend's house in York for that weekend and on the Saturday morning I decided to go to the game.
Did she ever forgive you for nicking all her bog rolls and throwing them on the pitch?

Another on the Trophy run ,I played for the Chantrey though and Double Six so only a weekend visitor.

Them were the days Sitters
Double Six - Christ I have had some times in there
the Chantrey, true story, first smack I took in a pub.
Drinking underage, as you do in the early 70s, took pity on a lonely old guy
Who was trying to get somebody to play Shove Ha'Penny
never played the game in my life before
somehow I managed to win or something
and the guy goes ballistic and smacked me around the chops 'for cheating'
granted it wasn't too disabling but stung me a bit
Anyhow he was very old and pissed off so I left it of course
Barman through him out and bought me a whiskey, which was nice

I was only a young lad playing for the chantry, it was packed with blade nutters who looked after me and you needed it in those days, it was brutal. We won the league one year and Peter Swan presented the medals which didn't impress very much.

I used to play for the Abbey but did frequent the Big Tree on many an occasion.

Lover’s tiff Bert! It happens!

She’d planned for him to do a trolley dash in the afternoon at Jackson Grandways, but when she failed to crozzle his bacon sufficiently that morning he rebelled!
