Old Photos For No Reason Whatsoever

I wasnt at the match but I remember a phantom whistler stopping the Texaco Cup 4-2 win against City in August 1974. TC was about to receive the ball on the wing near John Street, caught the ball and then booted it to the back of the stand.
It must have happened twice against Man City then, I remember being next to the old players tunnel & Kirkpatrick standing in there talking to the police & some club official about it

Kirkpatrick reffed the 2-2 draw against Man City in Nov 1975. Gave us a dubious penalty award and Eddy coverted it.

I used to live on Barnadiston Road and it has semi detached on both sides whereas that picture shows terraces.
True, so if you lived in Darnall would you know where the photo was taken/ which street it is? Worked many times in Darnall and know it quite well but don't know every street and cannot work this one out. Thinking could be off Greenland Rd, lots demolished and rebuilt that end.

Can't seem to think where it is as its quite a steep section of the street. My rough guesses would be at the bottom of Industry Road which is just opposite Barnadiston or Wilfrid Road (if there ever was houses on there and then may have been demolished).

Although Darnall has some hilly parts I like to think it's one of the biggest areas in Sheffield that is flat.

Did they double as deep sea diving boots too? Bloody hell, bet they had some heft.

It’s a very long time since I’d heard that word as a noun. A mere few days later, it’s just cropped up as a verb on Countryfile, where a lady was trying to assess the contents of a beehive without opening it and said she had to heft it, to gauge the weight.

Every day’s a learning day.

York 3 Blades 4 in October 1981? Mike Trusson two late headed goals! It was my first match of the season and I was at my girlfriend's house in York for that weekend and on the Saturday morning I decided to go to the game.
You were in York for the weekend and only decided to go to the game on Saturday morning?

Yes me and my girlfriend saw each other at weekends taking turns in Dronfield and York since July. I hadn't watched the Blades in August or September. That weekend when the Blades were at York, it was my turn to visit her in York. On the Friday I wasn't really planning on going to the match but I felt different in the next morning and decided to go to Boothams Crescent.

Apart from Sir Len and the two invalid carriages, is that Charlie George about to be embraced by George Armstrong. Ray Kennedy the other one? Is that the game where we lost 5-0, 1971/1972 where Alan Ball, sat on the ball?
Yes that was the 5-0 game. Don't know if it was the same game as the 'Ball on the ball' incident though.
