Bernard and Joe Shaw, Phil Thompson?
Peter Thompson
Is that an original bought at Wembley on the day, or a subsequent reprint ?
Bert will have to provide a better service. If you look at posts 165 and 166 of the '60 years ago this month' thread, you will see a programme from a little later at Stoke, but the reader is provided with details of the match, including a match report. Only kidding - though I'm concerned that you have to go on the garage roof to find all this memorabilia! Anything that keeps our minds off McCabe v the Prince at the moment is welcome.

Southampton 1 Blades 0 FA Cup 5th round 1963. Scorer is George KilbyHodgy, Richardson and Summers. Not sure of the opposition
Didn't go to this game, was out of Sheffield at this time, but it makes good reading. Peter Swan never seemed to get the better 'Doc' over the times they opposed. Admit I didn't know much about Swan but never thought he was more than a decent Div. 1 centre half. Remember seeing him, on a newsreel (Pathe), playing for England. Spent most of the time on his arse and you know can't play football on your ar...……Bert has been on his garage again. View attachment 54061

Yes......
On paper, personally think, that's a reight forred line. Maybe age difference lets them down but all at their best, plus that defence what went wrong? Not sure of season plumped for 57-58 2-3 win with Hodgson missing out replaced by G. Jones, who scored with Derek Hawksworth 2,1 pen. Found this for faces to names.

I remember my Dad had an original one of those!
And is a gigantic cockThe difference between Peter and Phil Thompson is that one has a gigantic nose. And stole a wage at Sheffield United.

Top R hand corner league table showing, Blades just behind Owls, wonder if the win placed Blades above Owls?
Sadly, but as we all know now, it comes to us all. Remember many wouldn't go if he didn't play, what a player, and the same with TC. At present this team reminds me of those quality days, it's good to watch our team at present, win, lose or draw. Extremely important we keep it all together and build the club instead of the boom bust that's gone on all my life.Hagan's last season
YesEngland caps, football?
It's a long story, but as is often the case, someone you trust abuses that trust. What a tragedy then, that they got nicked.
