The Gate is still there but is not really visible due to trees etc. Council will soon get rid of them.

On the bottom field I think (it was over 25 years ago!). Looking at Google Maps near the BMX Track (that wasn’t there).

Looking at this map Spingvale Road was longer, where Springvale Walk is now. I’m guessing it’s that area.

Spastic is just a word to describe people of a certain debility. It was widely used up to a certain point in recent history and I'd be interested to know how it evolved into an insult. In the States the word is still used definitively and without offence.
