I was only about 6 or 7 when this got played, but is that Geoff Salmons ? (the Chelsea photo)

Spent many a happy time there. They used to serve ice cream in a metal dish but going back years. My grandfather used to treat me in there in the war years when there was little else around so that would probably be between 1943 to 1946, aged 3-5.
Always remember the immaculate flowers in the garden in the beds as one entered the park from the Graves park entrance at the top of Derbyshire Lane where the 34 bus turned round. If one turned right after entering the park one could walk down to see the pigs, (no not football supporters ) as there were pig sty's in the bottom corner. As the years moved on it was football/cricket plus riding bikes in Graves Park as there was nothing else to do pre 50.s except to go to the Lane. Re visited the park a few years ago but it had been very run down.

Not any longer the Rose Cafe has been revived and fronted with rose gardens, a new children's park has been recreated and there is Graves Animal Farm.

Well at least some improvements made now. As I said I found it rather neglected when I last visited probably early 2000,s

Stringjunior thinks this photo, or at least one from the same angle and era, has been on this thread already about 6 months ago. Stringjunior believes this because he remembers showing Mr and Mrs Stringsenior the photo to see if they were on it - the Stringseniors always sat about the D of Dexel with Grandadstringsenior (or more correctly @GrandadBob). Mrs Stringsenior wasn't sure if they were or weren't on the photo.

What happens when a true hard man meets a posturing little shit:

Dave_mackay_3217606b.jpg

Terry Vegetables, Dave Mackay, Billie Bremner and Alan Hodgkinson as ref???

Mackay said of Bremner in this fixture (the opening day of the 1966 season at White Heart Pain), “He was a brilliant little player but a dirty little b******. He kicked me in the leg I’d just come back from breaking twice. If he’d kicked the other one, I could have accepted that. But he kicked the broken one and that really annoyed me. I could’ve killed him that day.”

Shame he didn't.
