Just had another look at the 1961 photo. Dont see anyone without a shirt. Reece joined us in 1965
Looking at the picture silent l-r
Summers ? Richardson
Shaw G ? Hodgy Shaw J Pace Simpson

Is that Allchurch 2nd back row between Summers and Richardson
"2nd row 2nd in no shirt, next to Hodgy

Does that help.

My Wendy supporting Uncle told me a story about Joe Cockcroft who was 37 years old when we signed him from Wendy. He was "well past his prime" and missed a penalty for us in a vital match. He played 12 games for us before going to Wisbech Town. I was told that Alec Blakeman was a poor signing from Brentford and played only 5 matches for us. 1948-49 season was a poor one despite the good crowds (second highest average attendances for a season in our history). We finished in bottom place

only more so....

I think was the Corinthians who wouldn't take a penalty when they were awarded one because they regarded it as unfair punishment?

This sort of psychology can work, I remember playing pool against a local cockerney lad in London and it all got a bit fractious. I wiped the floor with him but I refused to pot a very easy black and told him he'd won the game.... he went mental but his friends held him back and I walked out of the pub without a scratch.... still I'd have got 'shanked' now, they teach it in school in Hackney.

I take it they're German, they seem to know the words, then again, even I know the words to that German National Anthem, are they black shirts, English Fascists?

It is FA Cup 4th round weekend.
It is good to know we have a good cup pedigree but unfortunately not IMG_0003.jpg for many years.
There will be no one here who witnessed the win in 1899.
Bet it took a long time to get to Wembley in that mode of transport.

PS Having watched the Millwall game I can see why Wilder was interested in their centre back Webster.
