Even knowing town well as a kid can't remember the original Mulberry Tavern on Mulberry Street. The Arundel Gate one opened in what 1973/74?
Can you remember Bomber Greaham working behind the bar in the Mulberry.

All my watering holes.
By the way Woodseats was the firm in Scamps

Do you remember when the trainee coppers used to go in acting all big and clever? That soon stopped.

The Four Tops had been at the Fiesta once and were in there after. No security apart from a small guy from Detroit. Got their autographs. They were drinking Scotch like there was no tomorrow.

Bouncer Joe could sort everything out in there always had plenty of friends around him.

Last time I spoke to him he had a job at Greens Gym. Smart as ever and time for everyone.
Last time I saw him was in the Rythme Room late nineties bit of a slappers club.
We got drinking talking about old times both of us totally bollocked at the end of the night.

Joe died a couple of years ago ,he lived near the Lescar at Hunters Bar.He followed Dave Beech around and bounced many a door but also ran Gossips with Beechy and The Locarno for a while. Great bloke.

Sunday nights, bowl of chilli/turned up sandwiches = late bar !

A gentleman.

Used to be a regular in CJs knew Colin Walters well Vinny as well
Chattoos no.

Never liked Vinny or got on with him. Colin was sound. Used to play U18 football with him.

A few of us had been out with him the day he broke into Walshs and went to the top floor and got in bed and went to sleep. In the coffee bar on Chapel Walk before and he said he was tired.....

Got locked up with Kenny Rowe once following the Pigs. .

That wasn't at Hereford was it?

Think they'd played there and stopped somewhere on thexway back. Colin always said it wasn't him.
Can you remember that crew Colin,Vinney,Roy Elliot,Slacky,Archie etc they used to stand over to right hand side of the Shoreham baiting the Blades
Liberty taking fuckers

October 1973. Think the goal was disallowed. Match ended in a 1-1 draw and Woody scored our goal with a penalty and the photo wasnt just after Woody's goal
The legend on the photo (I'll have to dig it out ) said that Shilton pulled off a great save. A couple of Blades in the crowd there thought it had gone in.

Cheers. I wasnt at the match as I was at boarding school. When I first saw the photo in SUFC images two years ago it looked like Bone was celebrating with the fans. I was confused, then I had a look in the video of Woody's goal and the aftermath wasnt like as it was in the photo. Thanks for clearing it up

Not quite the same photo, but the description is there - I'm guessing this was a couple of seconds after the first photo I posted. Bone does not look happy, does he?

Saw Roy Elliott about a two years ago, him and Billy J in Maggie Mays. Nothing's changed but known them both from being a kid. Charlie Lindley was also with them although he strung along with Blades after matches with Jimmy Hobson.

Marples. What a dump that was.

Monday night was punk night in the early 80s, (no Northern Soul to be seen). Orgainised by Pax/Rat Records who had a shop at the backn of the Leadmill on Suffolk Road.

Some brilliant nights seeing Vice Squad, Discharge, Infa Riot, Mau Maus (from Killamarsh) and many many others. Only a short sprint down to Pond Street to catch the last Dinno bus.

I thought you were more into street music, Comrade.
