When Trevor Hockey broke his leg against Man City in February 1972 Cec Coldwell carried Hockey off the pitch piggy back style like Bob Paisley did with Emlyn Hughes in photo above.
Wonderful memories of these three. You could rely on Hatton and Edwards to score goals for us. Natural goal scorersWhat a guy.

Anyone have an accurate date for this? Appeared in the Sheffield Weekly Telegraph. Presuming 49-50ish.

Thanks for the infoThe insets are reversed, should read Parkin on L and McClaren on R.
Photo at Lane, and 1949-50 season, game, April 29 V Hull City W 5-0 HT2-0 F.E. Smith, Brook-2, Hagan, Jones.
Last game of season finished 3rd behind Fowles, both on 52 points, missed promotion on goal average. Spurs took Div. 2 title.
Looks odd for April with raincoats on, but looking at pitch by Harry's foot it was obviously a wet day.
I was going to the Lane at this period but only to the reserves, started '47 and to my own consternation I cannot remember my first team game.![]()
SoOK, what we are all here for. Thanks for the info
Much appreciated.

A totally random YouTube suggestion of a German documentary maker visiting Sheffield in 1965, Dial House Club features a lot.
