When Trevor Hockey broke his leg against Man City in February 1972 Cec Coldwell carried Hockey off the pitch piggy back style like Bob Paisley did with Emlyn Hughes in photo above.
yes remember that game silent 3 - 3 draw great match 2 - 0 down then 3 - 2 up with tc's header at the kop end was on motd that night watched it in alexandra before heading off for the top rank

Top v Spurs in Sept 1971, not seen the middle photo before, October 1971, I was there
2 - 2 draw spurs equalised in last minute i think and yeah october 71 was back in sheffield when that photo was taken locked out at 1.30pm 55k inside old trafford 20k outside 10k from sheffield we must only have had a couple of thousand fans inside that day manure fans had been queeing from 9am that morning never seen traffic like it going over snake pass thats why most blades fans didnt get in that day great memories though from a great era for the club

Anyone have an accurate date for this? Appeared in the Sheffield Weekly Telegraph. Presuming 49-50ish.

The insets are reversed, should read Parkin on L and McClaren on R.
Photo at Lane, and 1949-50 season, game, April 29 V Hull City W 5-0 HT2-0 F.E. Smith, Brook-2, Hagan, Jones.
Last game of season finished 3rd behind Fowles, both on 52 points, missed promotion on goal average. Spurs took Div. 2 title.
Looks odd for April with raincoats on, but looking at pitch by Harry's foot it was obviously a wet day.
I was going to the Lane at this period but only to the reserves, started '47 and to my own consternation I cannot remember my first team game. :(
