the most concerning thing to me today was that it looks like we need to continue to strengthen in defence, midfield and even potentially up front.

There are so many comments already on here about jay mceverley I don't need to make that point so there's one... But central defence is still an area of concern so that's 2.

I really thought we were ineffective in central midfield today . There were flashes of good play from bash and reed but to me a central midfield player needs to chip in with 8-10 goals a season and that won't happen in any of our potential partnerships

Up front sharp and sammon work well together and put a great shift in but you have to put chances away like they had today - particularly the sammon header first half - that changes the whole game .

I feel like we need to move the ball much quicker in every part of the pitch (except JCR who did really well in my opinion.

Maybe I am over reacting but back to the question where is priority and if it's defence only can this team consistently ie over a full season score enough goals

The issues with centre mid have been largely overlooked. It's been a problem for a few years now. If we're playing two there against 3 or more then those two have to be really good. I don;t think we have one really good CM. I'm not convinced by Basham and whoever we play next to him is not good enough week in, week out.

We really miss someone like Coady. The midfield is not protecting the defence enough, scoring or creating enough.

It would seem that Wallace will never be fully fit. I'd go 4:3:3 with these players.
