OK so I'm worried

Id say that would give us a chance to turn the pitch round 45 degrees then do the ground properly and that will end the thread. :)
 
The whole point is to get there and try to achieve things, if we just say I’m happy here what’s the point ?
Onwards and upwards is the way, it’s just how you try to work your way round the financial part that’s crippling the game

Last time we appointed the wrong man and wasted the parachute payments. Call me a small time blade all you like call me negative and a doommonger but accept my concerns are real and motivated by both love for this club and experience of mistakes we have made in the past.

If ever a post summed up Sheffield as a city this is it FFS! It's as though we're indoctrinated from birth to be inferior. If I was offered a 3some with Scarlett Johannsen and Salma Hayek do you think the knowledge of my shooting my bolt after 3 seconds would put me off? Nonsense. Yes ok then, you are a small-time blade and a doommonger, but your concerns are in the right place mate, no doubt about that.

Have you considered the risks of staying where we are, in the Championship? Just think about that for a moment.

Imagine it like this...

Following a shipwreck, you're stuck on a piece of wood floating on the sea. It's a sizeable piece of wood and you aren't in any immediate danger, but you know full well that at any point a huge wave could come and wash you under. Up ahead there's a huge ship. You can see the bright lights on board, you can even make out people on the deck, sipping champagne, eating canapes, there's a sound of beautiful piano music coming from the dining room on board, and she looks all pristine and fine, and is fully equipped with every luxury and lifeboats too of course. Do you want to head for that ship, now, and climb on board and be part of that? Or do you want to hang around on your piece of wood and hope that nothing bad comes to you?

The facts are mate, that the ship in this analogy is the Premiership. And it's actually sailing away from us, not towards us. We've got a chance, right now, to get as near to it as we have ever been for over a decade. That chance might not come again anytime soon. Do we want to try for it? I do personally, because I just have no confidence whatsoever that staying where we are will be the best thing for us.

If we don't go up, we might strengthen, but we really don't know about that at all. We could just as easily lose our best players and the manager, during the summer.

The one thing that promotion guarantees us is a much greater financial security than staying where we are. Even if we only manage to stay there for one season, it's so lucrative it changes the future prospects of our club.

There's no logical argument for preferring to stay where we are instead. None. It could be an absolute disaster if we do.

Will they count all season ticket holders as part of the death toll, even if they are not in attendance?
 
I had exactly the same feelings about this time last year.

Promotion. It was a worry. How would we cope against Wolves, Derby, Wednesday, Forest and the like.

Crossed my mind that maybe we should stick to league one, be nice and comfortable and look forward to our annual encounters against the likes of Bury, Rochdale etc.
 
Find the OP type of mentality difficult to understand.

It could actually be easier buying numerous players for the Premier league, with £70-80m than it could to add to what we have now for next season in Championship.

Getting out of this division is very difficult and we still have an excellent chance to do so THIS season.

If the chance arises, then take it and try and solve whatever problems the Prem throws at us.

First up is Millwall - I hope everyone is up for it and not thinking "oh dear - I am frightened of going up"

FFS - lets go for it and grow some.

Wednesday would have had a bigger quake already which would've been massive and The Stir would be raising funds to rebuild the sty.

The whole bloody point of running and supporting the club is make it as good as it can be. The moment we stop striving to achieve that is the moment we may as well go to Meadowhall on a Saturday instead.

If you spun the pitch 45 degrees it's going to look fucking weird, surely we go the full 90 degrees. Then what? Build a giant kop half way up the car park, a giant east stand in place of the kop. Need to knock the hotel down as well and we'd have a 60,000 seater stadium.

Be great for those champions league games under the floodlights. Parking would be a nightmare though.

I think I'd rather just stay mid table Championship and get home in time for tea every satdi.

So to be clear. If you were hanging on to a piece of drift wood in the ocean and saw a big ship sailing past, your first reaction would be to worry that the big ship might sink?

We know how to search for that cloud that hanging around the silver lining on here don't we?

If the season finished today we will all think we've had a good 'un. The best manager at the lane since when, -and he's one of us - and I'm quietly confident for next season. The only Iceberg / coyal oyal fire I see is the board.
I just don't, for once in our history, want to see another Jones Birchenall Maradona Agana Deane Fjortoft Mcdonald /Charles Green Robson Hashimi (read the draft of his book.may have been false, but hahahahahahaha) Super rich African chaps Beattie flu fax machines etc.
CW is a blessing to us, taking this club on a voyage hopefully. Up to the owners to back him.
