its not a case of not giving him a chance but he isn't involving himself with the rest of the team ,and its the 'team' and togetherness which has been one of the great qualities this season. That doesnt just mean the players ,its the management ,fans, coaching staff ,everyone and he isn't helping himself with this attitude.

Give the lad a chance. I'm sure people at the club will notice and have a word... In case he doesnt realise himself.

As Mic quite rightly said, it's what he does on the pitch what's more important.

And before anyone bangs on about "players thanking fans for travelling to Rochdale on a Tuesday night during a recession" I think a 2-5 win is more than enough thanks to the fans. If we win every game in that fashion, I couldn't care if the players show their arses to the crowd

come to think of it he might not think he has done enough yet to be plodding round the pitch at the end taking the plaudits.. so all this speculation could be a massive disservice.. perhaps he has more respect for the fans than we originally thought

He has a new contract that keeps him at the Reebok until 2015, that surely means there's rather more to his game than he's shown so far?

He has looked a bit headless chicken so far and Adrian Litteljohn's name has cropped up a couple of times in this thread, which is a bit unfair on our Ade, he scored some decent goals in the Premier League, including in a 1-0 win v Liverpool.

O'Halloran's feeble lob into the 'keepers hands near the end was very disappointing and I get the feeling that his behaviour might be to do with him feeling that way himself.

I think he could have potential to be decent with his pace but at the moment, we're seeing no other attributes. He should have scored yesterday in the 2nd half but I think he just needs to involve himself in play more; in the 2nd half yesterday he was ball-watching a lot of the time.

In addition, we're not used to having a player as quick as him so we're not yet playing to his strengths: balls which might bounce through to the keeper if it's Evans and Cresswell up front (Evans is quick but nothing on O'Halloran) might be perfect for O'Halloran - the players just aren't used to playing them.

Give the kid a break ffs, last season a 22 year old striker was slaughtered for lack of everything from commitment to ability, that same lad now leads the goal scoring charts just behind rhodes and has played less games.personally id like to see this kid come back for the whole of next season regardless of what divison we are in, maybe knowing hes here for a while will help him integrate into the squad rather than knowing hes just here short term and he might even learn to applauad the fans at away games (and personally shake sitwell by the hand after every game ).
how many will slate him if on the final day against exeter he scores the goal that levels the game 4 mins into stoppage time and takes us up on goal difference?

Very true.

Under Warnock, Bassett and Blackwell, if we were winning in the closing stages we'd play nothing but balls in behind the opposing back four to push them back. That would ideal the ideal situation for bringing on this lad now.

However, we're less formulaic under Wilson and try to keep the ball more. Something he looked ill suited for against the Cherries. We need to recognise how to use the fella.

It's significant to me that our defnesive capability also reduces when Cresswell goes off and O'H comes on.
I know he is just a kid but he doesn't appear to make himslef available for the "release ball" from defense nor hold the ball up and when he gets a run, it seems he has no awareness of others around him.

Raw pace can be used quite effectively in a counter attacking system. However, the majority of the games we will be playing to the end of this season will have us pressing, not soaking and breaking. Maybe Danny has O'H in mind for MKD away where we may be under some pressure at times and need a swift breakaway.

To be fair Kenners, Cresswell hadn't been particularly effective in holding the ball up against Bournemouth; he seemed to get outmuscled far too easily. I thought he (Cresswell) was poor on Saturday.

That said, O'Halloran looked a bit lost when he came on.
