Offer in for Brooks...

Complete fabrication. Yesterdays article headed "Top Flight Club willing to pay £10m for David Brooks". Wilder confirms to-day no bids received just an enquiry from someone, unamed and they were politely told to go away.

So, offer declined, which has been United's position for some time, so nothing has changed. When it does I'm sure it will be confirmed by the club.
Until then, rumours of a sale are nonsense, even if they're alluded to in the provincial press. A non-story, I guess genuine news was rare, so why not flesh out something as if it has legs.

In other words, exactly what the story said

Point me to the part of the interview where Wilder says we've rejected a bid of £10 million? Nice try.

Point me to the part of the story which says they’ve rejected a £10m bid?

Justify your story that a top flight club willing to pay over £10 million pounds has approached the Club. Who did they approach?

It’s not my story. Where does it say in it that United have rejected a £10m bid? No rush

I didn't say your story did keep up. I asked you to tell me where CW had made reference to this in his interview today.

I would take £15m with a sell on clause.

*Provided the vast bulk of the funds (85% minimum) is reinvested in new players to strengthen the team.

At the moment that cash could be enough to build a team that could stay in the top six for the next two seasons (if promotion isn’t achieved).

You didn’t say it, apart from when you did in plain black and white

What was the ‘fabrication’ as you put it? :fattwat:

Avoiding the question. Where did CW in his interview today make reference to a top flight club being willing to pay £10 million for DB.

He didn’t. What’s the relevance of that?

He said " We get a lot of off the record conversations whether with agents acting for Clubs or Clubs themselves about what are you doing with players. Nothing changes with David. I've had a conversation and made it clear David is not for sale. "

When asked is that not at any price he replies " That isn't decided by me as far as I am concerned. If anyone makes a bid it goes through the Chief Exec and owner if they get bids or offers from other clubs".

So based on what he has said do you honestly expect us to believe that the off the record conversation was " Hello Chris top premiership club here we've got £10 million to spend can we have David Brooks".

Clear a conversation took place. CW said so. Could be classed as an approach but as these conversations take place all the time more a sounding out about availability to which they got short shrift. The £10 million is a red herring thats the problem I have with the article even if it isn't yours.

Which is all contained in the story you dismiss as a ‘complete fabrication’. Can you see the difficulty I’m having understanding this?

I am OK Bush. Been a bit out of touch but hope to resume normal activity in the new year. Thanks for asking. Compliments of the season to all
Good to hear it.

Done deal. 20m quid, 40% sell on, to Liverpool, Coming back on loan for rest of season. This is what I just heard from a reliable source who has knowledge of the deal....

Lets see if the money gets reinvested.

I think we should sell that young ‘Kyle Walker’ he’s only played 6 games for us so far so if we get a couple of mil for him to play in the Tottenham reserves then that would be good business for us!

Posted a picture on instagram of him at Warrington hospital with what looks like a drip in his arm.

So, he has seen rejection when let go by Man City, just seen Coutts leg shattered, had a large chance this year of playing agriculturally with Chesterfield, undoubtedly had conversations when on international duty about wages and benefits and I'm sure has seen the progress of Dominic, Harry and historically the Kyle's. He has seen the harsh side of football and the benefits on offer..

If you were in your early twenties, could sort yourself for life and develop your career, what would you do? How many of us had to leave home to sort our lives out and whilst dreadfully missing Sheffield, I know that I couldn't have done what I've done at home. A shame but a fact.

Course I don't want him to go, but until we continue to back Wilder and get into the Premiership and that isn't about the amount of money, just backing his judgement and giving him a reasonable amount, then talent will leave. A life fact. The bigger issue for me is to secure the best deal for the club and if that means a decent amount, a sell on and more importantly a loan back for the remainder of the season then it's something that I personally will reluctantly accept. That nutmeg alone deserves my respect and support and there may not be a better time..

Any idea of that's £20 million upfront? That would be very good business.

40% of any sell on or 40% of any profit on sell on?
