May 9 (Bloomberg) -- Fans of English Premiership clubs think about soccer 80 times a day, according to a survey released today that says Sheffield United supporters are the most obsessed.
While the average follower will reflect on his or her team's fortunes every 12 minutes, Sheffield United fans will do so every nine minutes or 110 times during 16 hours of time spent awake, the study by financial services company Virgin Money said.
``Partners of obsessive football fans will be well aware of the frightening level of interest by hardcore supporters and the occasional glazed look on their faces,'' Virgin Money spokesman John Franklin said in an e-mailed statement.
Sheffield United coach Neil Warnock cited the team's home support as crucial to the club's quest to retain its place among the elite after promotion last year. The Blades, who've lost five times at home and 14 away, will ensure a second straight season in the top tier by avoiding defeat in their final game this weekend against visiting Wigan.
Charlton, Chelsea and Liverpool supporters are the next- most obsessed, the survey of 2,000 people added. Everton fans are the most able to concentrate on other matters, followed by backers of Watford, Wigan and Bolton.

Surely some on here can beat the 'every 9 minutes' level?
