Yes I am a blade and feel I have right to respond to a thread called 'Now is the time for Clough to go' sorry for having an opinion different from yours. Give me a ring before the election in may and I'll make sure I vote the same as you.

Of course you are entitled to an opinion and if you fell that strongly then put up a new post with a pole of "Clough must go NOW"

See how many fellow idiots vote for it.

I normally don't criticise Blades but I make an exception with your pathetic 2nd post.

Perhaps after a few more genuine, decent and properly debateable posts you might actually gain a little more respect than the first load of crap you have posted.

Now, there's a challenge set for you - you want to take it on?

I very much doubt you have the bottle to put it to the vote.

You just have to accept that the venting of extreme emotional anguish on a message board has a cathartic effect. Cheaper than a visit to a psychoanalyst.

yes but the difference with some is they have ALREADY been to the psychoanalyst and have probably been advised by the shrink it's cheaper to come on a message board - the physco could at least point them in the direction of the idiots board.......Bladesmad.

First I think you have some anger management issues. Second I don't care if I'm not respected by you or any other of the people on here that I'll probably never meet. Third I don't care if I'm the only one with this opinion it will still be my opinion so not bothering with a poll thanks though you crack on if it helps.

Instead of having a go at me why don't you just say why you disagree with me and the others in this thread who think Clough should go, I think that's what the forums are for.

Our Nigel Clough is definitely dividing opinion and becoming a bit like marmite . I am very pro Mr Clough , but if we don't go up the divide and unrest will get wider .

Mr Clough , what anybody says has not got much experience of league 1 , even though he managed Burton in the lower leagues years ago . Times change and so does football , so i don't think you can count his time at Burton , as experience and knowledge of the league as it is now.( or lower league , whatever you want to call it )

Just a thought , but there seems to be imo a different league table of managers . To succeed do you need-

Experienced league 1 manager with promotion on his cv to get you out of league 1 ( or 2 )

Experienced championship manager with promotion on his cv to get you out of the championship

Experienced premiership manager to keep you there.

There is always exceptions to the rule like Eddie Howe. but if we supposedly have a 5 year plan to succeed , do you change managers , as horses for courses , and therefore have a management team with expertise , knowledge and reputation specifically for the league you are in.

Or is it a case of having a good manager with a board willing to spend a load of dosh , and giving him time with patience ( and hope / backing ) to allow him to succeed.

I just think Mr Clough doesn't have anything else to offer. Last season he came and other teams didn't quite know how to play us, our patience forced them to chase the game allowing us to counter attack and win by the odd goal.

That was then and this now, we still play exactly the same but our opponent's have learnt to be patient also, knowing we have one or two mistakes in us. Every time we change our style we look even worse and no one has a clue what thier doing. Rather than wait for this season to end with a whimper IMHO we should get rid now.

BTW I hope I'm wrong and the season ends in glory and Mr Clough eventually ends up in the carpark next to Derek.

it all depends if you are typing with one hand and eating a Beres with the other.

The extremes in all manner of life need challenging - your Clough Out now is an extreme view and it has been challenged - nothing more, nothing less.

Oh and by the way - if I see you "supporting" the club on other posts with interesting and meaningful debate as against the pathetic attempt in a minority of 1 with Clough out NOW, then I will be the first to apologise.

I'm very pro-Clough but at the same time a lot of the anti- criticisms ring true.

Afaics (by agreeing to spend money on a new pitch better suited to his preferred style) the board have backed him - at least till we see how things play out next season.

We seem to be headed toward the play-off casino again.

If we get through then obviously that buys him a lot of time, if we don't then he has to show significant progress next season in other ways.

And, as always, the calls for Clough out (whenever they come) are easy, but who should we get in?

It's now time for Clough to depart, defeats at BDTBL to Peterborough and Fleetwood are unacceptable. The bloke can't motivate inspire or man manage.
His after defeat interviews are dire, get someone with a personality in!

As the man said on RS, twelve months ago we were two points off relegation, now we are in the play offs with players signed who won't need replacing IF we get up.

We're trying to lay football as well.

Yes lets get shut and get some numpty in like Adams, Blackwell, Weir, Wilson, I'm sure the board that brought that load of dross in will get it right with their eyes closed.

Three year plan.

Or it could be a numpty like Bassett or Warnock? Although they didn't play football, just motivated the players and entertained the fans.

Which players won't need replacing if we go up? Brayford, Murphy, Done and ?

The problem is, I think, that Clough has managed to create his perfect dream. An entire football club staffed by Clough yes men. If anyone gets unhappy they are shipped out or left to rot.

A bloke at Brentford will be looking for a job soon Mr Phipps,, plenty out there that are better than negative Nigel.

He's a poison dwarf, I'm sick of hearing where in the play offs... So fucking what it's the third tier of football the displays been turfed out this season have been absolute dogshit an if it carries on then we won't be in the playoffs much longer, then will the clough supporters say "give him next season"?

Its a funny old game innit? We were whooping with joy after the Bristol result not so long ago. Now it's back to utter grief and wrist slashing :-)
It's going to be an interesting test of character for Clough and the lads over the next few games...no one wants to see another flat-caps-off protest in the car park..

I'd give Clough in to next season, but the length of time would partly depend on who was available.

Warbuton's Brentford seem to play the way I like to see the game played.

It's getting harder and harder to keep supporting someone when his decisions don't seem to make any sense. I said I will give him to the end of the season because he deserves that, however if he do miss out this for me is the biggest disappointment of a football season considering how last season finished. Not many of his signings, team selection, tactics or subs make any sense.

As I said earlier in the week, to sign 2 players and not improve your first 11 is fucking criminal.

Horses for courses, we need a manager that's proven at this level, get us to the next level. Get rid if we have to and then get in a manager to get us out of championship. Then let's see the prince splash some money, on a tried and tested premiership manager.

not only that sheffielder, if it does go tits up this season or next, how the fuck are we to get rid of the dead wood. Took ages to get rid of the last lot.

Money we won't have to spend this coming pre season

we've got about 20 players to shift before he can bring anyone else in. He's had the luxury of being allowed to pay players off. I can't see that being the same case again as it's a ridiculous waste of money.

We'd have won today if our fans weren't such a bunch of bastards.

Apparently.
According to his post match interview, the games are catching up with us now (I thought that's we had a squad the size of Fleetwood's average home attendance) and we looked dead on our feet. He also said poor performance nothing do to with him because there is nothing he can do from the touchlines and indicated play-offs were the height of our ambitions.
Peterborough have just sacked their manager and won 3 out of 3 and the Dingles have sacked theirs and won 5 out of 5, so a case can be made for getting rid of Clough now.
