Billy and Jade now offer counselling, great they they’ve offered this but honestly if I got problems that result in me going missing I personally wouldn’t want to chat to a footballers wife about it.

Good of them to offer support though, they'd no need to and maybe there's a reason we don't know as to why they have. I don't know where I'd be without the support I have had from people on here who've never even met me.

Conversely, I've also had people (not on here, friends of me and Ms Crab) who made all the "we'll be here" noises, and haven't.

Not a pop at all, just saying it's nice of people to offer support to those who might need it.

When we're in a crisis, help can come from places we wouldn't expect. Sometimes when someone offers their hand of kindness it can make a huge diffrence. Sometimes we dismiss these things without thought and miss an opportunity. People from all walks of life, including footballers and their wives, have a wealth of life-experiences to draw on, which can give them genuine empathy and understanding for someone in distress.

Hope the lad is ok.

I don't think it matters who it is, its just good that they know someone is there to talk to.

It is nice, don’t get me wrong but I personally find it odd. Anyway, I’m done with this, Jonny has been found and that’s what this thread is about.

Spot on Swiss, my thoughts exactly. I don’t know the lad involved, but great that he’s been found & hopefully he’ll get the support he needs going forward.

Mrs. Sharp has got previous experience in dealing with these types of situations. Her husband disappeared last season for 11 games between 6th March and 6th May. ;)

That's crass under the circumstances.

I saw a message on Twitter last week that he’d decided to stop the match videos for now. Best of wishes to the lad.

I don’t know Johnny very well but have stood with him/around him at quite a few home games, always the same lads he stands with and they’re blades through and through and also the biggest blades I know, at some point I’d imagine he’ll see this thread along with all the Facebook and twitter posts and 98% of messages I’ve seen have been of hope that’s he’s found safe and well, the odd idiot though makes unthoughtful comments.
Sad world we’re being led into through social media and phones where a comment that someone takes a minute to type could make someone feel worse than they already are.
All I do know is that a promotion takes the backing of the fans and there’s not many bigger backers vocally from the Kop than Johnny his family and his friends.

They met him presumably when he filmed something for his YouTube channel with Billy.

Not really. I'm not making light of the lad's situation, nor making a joke about him. As i said, i don't know him, i don't know his circumstances but I'm glad that he's been found safe and well. I hope he has all the support & help that he needs going forwards.

If Billy and his wife have reached out to him & his family, then good for them. It's very kind of them. The tongue in cheek comment was aimed at them and nobody else, and an attempt to lighten the general mood. If you think otherwise, that's fair enough, I apologise & I'm more than happy for Foxy to delete my post. It wasn't intended that way.

I believe Jade has suffered from depression, for the record, people suffering with a mental illness don't go seeking just professional help, friends, family, strangers or someone who will listen are always a big help.

If Jonny is struggling I'm sure he'll be happy to speak to someone else whose struggled. He's interviewed Billy on Shoreham View, I'm sure he's met Jade, a lovely gesture by our captain's wife, if he takes it up or not I'm sure he'll feel grateful knowing people care about him.

It's not about being a pro footballer, or a pro footballers wife. It's about being a compassionate human being. Now that's a mark worth leaving.

We all know what Billy and Jade have been through, a.situation that leaves a mark for a lifetime. Reaching out as they have is a lovely gesture. I don't know what Jonnys situation is, but I certainly know what it's like to hit the bottom, I almost took my own life on Christmas eve, because of a Facebook comment from someone I thought was close, it was the last straw on a bad day for me.

So many people on here have reached out on here, and I will always do.my best to reach back if.needed, if.anyone feels like they have hit the bottom.

So, much love to Billy and Jade, and to Jonny, and to anyone who sees the Black Dog

The Sharp family will probably have met him when this was filmed and should be commended for offering their support. It’s public knowledge that they themselves have faced difficult circumstances and I’m sure they will have experienced some dark periods as well. If they wish to offer support and empathy then it should be viewed as nothing but positive.

An offer of help, from a none judgemental person, who might have experienced similar troubles, coupled with the fact his hero could offer encouragement as well??
...
Worth a shot isn't it? And whether he takes them up or not it's a lovely gesture!
