I see both Port Vale and Southend United have made the most of their games in hand tonight and have gone above us.

We really need 3 points on Saturday but against Wigan? I'm not looking forward to attending the game this weekend. McCabe/Prince have horrendously failed to recognise just how desperate we were for a signing or two in this window. I hope it get's to a point where they'll look back and regret not doing so (but in reality I doubt they'll even give it a second thought!)

Right now the last thing we need is a tough home game against a team in form who can inflict serious damage and pull further away from us. The way fans frustrations are at the moment I could see it turning nasty but as pissed off as we are it would serve no purpose right now. Those frustrations should be saved for if we miss out on a play off spot, not that even that was this seasons objective

If only we had a home game against someone rubbish like Shrewsbury or Colchester......

Poet Vale game in hand ? They have played two games more than us

Poet Of The Vale.
Would that be Robert Peter Williams?

Wordsworth I reckon.

Lines written at Grasmere
By William Wordsworth (1770–1850)

On Tidings of the Approaching Death of Charles James Fox

LOUD is the Vale! the voice is up
With which she speaks when storms are gone,
A mighty unison of streams!
Of all her Voices, One!

Loud is the Vale;—this inland Depth
In peace is roaring like the sea;
Yon star upon the mountain-top
Is listening quietly.

Sad was I, even to pain deprest,
Importunate and heavy load!
The Comforter hath found me here,
Upon this lonely road;

And many thousands now are sad—
Wait the fulfilment of their fear;
For he must die who is their stay,
Their glory disappear.

A Power is passing from the earth
To breathless Nature’s dark abyss;
But when the great and good depart
What is it more than this—

That Man, who is from God sent forth,
Doth yet again to God return?—
Such ebb and flow must ever be,
Then wherefore should we mourn?

Very apt.

I do love the cultural aspect of this board.

The way things are going, I see nowt but a resounding defeat on Satdi

Probably but then we did all say that before the Coventry game. As I said on the other thread that's the only sort of display I see where we can anything from the game, go 4-5-1 and try and frustrate a draw or scrappy one nil out of it.

And no I am not looking forward to see us play that way at home in the third division but when the devil shits on your dinner plate you don't have much choice.

Am I mistaken?
It's Wigan Athletic on Saturday?
For a moment I was imagining Guardiola's Bayern kicking towards The Kop at 1500.

Wigan Athletic.

Beatable.

Plus we've developed a handy habit of giving the better teams a good shoeing until they agree to lie down.

On Tidings that we are Down to Ninth

SHITE are the Vale! Yet they are up
Above us, and Southend too
A mighty unison of crap teams!
All hopes of autos, gone!

Is auto still mathematically possible though?

it's probably possible to have a look at the table and work out if it is possible or not ;)

IT IS, IT'S STILL POSSIBLE,!!

We have a habit of making ordinary team look like Bayern when they visit the lane this season. Nothing to do with us being shit of course but because teams raise there game when they visit the lane. After 5 seasons that ones wearing very thin!

Blades 2-0 Wigan
Burn 4, 66

Blades 0 Wigan 1
Burn, the lot of em!.

Seriously, it's looking bleak but I hope we can somehow start and get the 3 points against a team who will comfortably get in the top two.

Our team were in the football league
The fans put up a fight
But investment wasn't forthcoming
And we kept a team of shite

This is the acid test; get trounced and the fans all say "well I could have told you this would happen, they spent big!", if we win, some people will say "see, we didn't need to spend, we can still do it!"

Our team were in the football league
the fans were very vocal
"we must keep Reed and Billy Sharp"
(because both lads are local)

Our team were in the football league
the fans they started booing
"can we just send Sammon back
and bring on Calvert-Lewin?!

Our team were in the football league
the fans started to trash 'em
Something, something, something, something
Something, something Bashem

Our team were.......ok I'll stop now ;)
