Not Good Enough

Being in this division for so long has unfortunately changed a lot of our fans mindsets. It has bottomed out their expectation levels to the point that when any kind of high (when I say high I mean the level it should be at) standard is upheld it's frowned upon. Sad to see in many ways.

That's very true. I would add that some fans expectations accept that a striker who runs around a lot but does not score is the acceptable standard of footballer.

Or conversely, that the same player IS the standard we should expect at this level, given where we currently sit in the table.

It's mostly conjecture and when mixed with hyperbole, should be good fun. Shame about this thread. :(

Two great goals from our talisman captain, a good performance from a player many of us have questioned, Clarke, and decent games from Latterty, Bash, JOC.
.

After Atkins and Sharpe, who is this mysterious Latterty you refer to??!!!........

Sorry mate, couldn't resist!

;)

Just remember chaps while you are all having a bit of a knees up, life could be worse.

Oh and for Pinchy and Tyler.

Let's be honest,we were utter gash for 45 minutes. We can't play the "They parked the bus card", because give them credit, they didn't.
Our midfield was slow, static and largely disinterested and our standards were woeful. I fail to understand how professionals can take so little pride or interest in their jobs in front of a bumper crowd and an opportunity to keep them with a display of spaekling attacking football and a few goals. No this is Sheffield United.
Wilders half time team talk should have consisted of 10 well aimed kicks up arses,(I exempt Moore) and nothing more.
The introduction of Clarke actually paid off although in honesty I'd have hoped for Lavery.
One thing I noticed was how Clarke does absolutely none of Dones off the ball work which at one point led to Oldham bringing out an excellent save from Moore.
1 out of 10 first half.
7 out of 10 second.
We need to take hold of games from the get go at home. Today was piss poor with massive over elaboration and lack of off the ball movement throughout.
3 points but yet again we fail to deliver in front of a big crowd.
Thank God for Billy.

Yesterday was a tough game. Oldham played much better than any of us and CW expected. The game was scrappy, both teams struggled to string some passing together, partly due to each others pressing.
I'm gonna put that in the "another game we wouldn't have won last season" pile.

Very pleased, 1pt behind. Roll on Saturday.

Guess what i've had done?

You'll NEVER get it.

The casual observer in the public urinals of Sheffield would mistakenly think you've had "UBsftps" tattooed on your dick. However, at the climax to a romantic evening with your missus, she actually sees "Up the Blades and fuck the pigs".
And, yes, I am psychic. What do I win?

I thought Oldham did a great job of disrupting our midfield, they had players constantly closing down the space we normally get.
We were unable to stretch the game to create this space as the long balls we ended up playing were poor and Oldham won the majority of them getting the ball back, or out of the danger areas.
We didn't get much time at the back either, which meant the centre backs rarely had the chance to get the ball into Coutts or Flecks feet.
But we overcame and won, despite Oldham doing a better tactical job on us than the park the bus mobs we've faced.
Onwards and Upwards.

Come on then Tyler and Pinchy, was the make up sex as good as the build up!!!!??????

I'll helpfully point towards posts 69 and 242 to prove how "behind" I've been. You've been rolling over ever since I arrived to call you out on your repetitive, cretinous bullshit. A recreational activity for me but clearly distressing for you, and for that I do feel a tinge of remorse.

I truly hope that one day you find the happiness that has so far eluded you in your advancing years.

Bassettspeed to you.

What was the explanation about cowardice and the inboxes again, Tiger?

"could all riders check they are securely fastened in.................here we go........hold on.........scream if you wana go faster!!!!!"

You've had it more than once.

Anything you need to say, do it in private and have some respect for the rest of this forum. Or don't say anything at all, which is also a wise move for someone in your current position.

Well I enjoyed it yesterday, a few beers in the Beer Engine, met some Blades who now live overseas but home for Christmas, two goals from Captain Billy and then a beer on the way home. Feet up and watch telly.

All you needed to add to the mix was logging onto a football forum, throwing some unpleasant abuse about for a few hours and then going to bed with sky high blood pressure and you would have had the perfect day.

Lavery should have started IMO he did enough in the cameo at Coventry to have earned it. Yes I to expected Lavery to come on when Clarke was introduced but credit Wilder for realising this had developed into Clarkes sort of game and he got it right.

In the window we need the Chapman replacement, a goalscoring partner for Sharp and maybe another midfielder to give Coutts and Fleck a bit of competition, they both have been on auto pilot last two games and need a spark up their arse.

I'm giving Coutts a bit of leeway at present, did you see his ankle turn at the Coventry game? May still be affecting him.

Just from reading this thread this morning I can smell the cooking lager and Christmas spirits from here.
forum rules..an alpha male NEVER backs down

Exactly. Unless the Alpha male decides to keep his power dry and conserve energy for bigger and more important challenges.

A little bit like why I kept my powder dry and didn't wipe the floor with seanbeenstattoo last night, I'd worked out that he has already made himself look a bit silly and would continue to do so without any assistance from me.

I know, typical of me, sitting with my feet up, watching a film with a few drinks, when I should have been ranting on here

Can I post a GIF please?

I'm still fuming is there a whistle shortage in Sheffield no one brought a whistle to the game,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and Coventry let in 4 goals yesterday, just an observation.
