I'm not abusing you! Where do you get that from? I certainly didn't intend to. Just wondering if your silly little friend was correct in taking up arms on your behalf? Nothing more.

That Tyler agrees with anything I post is for that reason alone. He agrees.
Your issues with him,or anyone else are just that. Your issues.
I was debating with you. Nothing more.
For the record I get what Done does and dosen't do.
I am yet to be convinced by Clarke, but would love to be,likewise Lavery.
Beyond that I hope we approach 2017 with the same positive attitude we have largely approached the first 23 games.

I didn't realise that we had to up our game to royally entertain the missing 5k who have suddenly come crawling back out of the woodwork.

It does seem to me like you are the first one to become critical of United, I don't know what it is with you, from where I'm standing we managed to get another 3 points from a scrappy game. We can't play well all the time, but winning when we haven't played particularly well strikes me as a trait of a side who look destined for promotion. In all probability we will be heading in to the new year either top or 4 points clear of third place, and for the first time in a long time, we all seem to be pulling together in the same direction. It is still a work in progress but trying to pull United down and constantly looking for the negatives when things are going well isn't very productive is it.

FFS how many times do I need to say it. It isn't about playing well all the time. Of course no one can do that. But today we looked like we didnt give a fuck for 45 minutes.
As far as crowds go you must be a bit thick if you dont get the correlation between bigger crowds and bigger spend on better players.
As far as being one of the first to be critical maybe my demands and standards are higher than yours. And for that I am very grateful.

Cringefest all round.

There's only one shithouse to blame. The silly fucker made it his business to confront me in an abusive and aggressive fashion the minute Bladesmad vomited the fucking idiot over here. He really ought not to have stepped out of his league. He picks fights he can't win and enters a battle of wits unarmed.

His present line of attack, visible a mile off just like all the others, is that I've put him on ignore and run away from him. He thereby invests himself with infinitely more importance than his sorry arse could even begin to merit. He's an irritating little insect that flies around me from time to time. I put up with it patiently but have to pick up the swatter now and then.

I thought you would have realised by now ANY criticism of United on this forum labels you as a miserable negative fecker or worse a pig to most members.
Aye, that's right fella. Your reputation isn't earned at all is it, it's just overreaction.

I take it you posted that in jest, or on others behalf?

In terms of glass half full, or half empty, yours is Gandi's flip flop. :)

My tuppeneth.

Nobody was crap. Nobody was lazy.

We were simply slow moving the ball and allowed ourselves to be brought down to the pedestrian pace of our opponents. The ball to the front men wasn't good enough first half and likewise neither Sharp or Done were getting hold of it.
It was relatively easy for them to defend, they were happy to pack their box and defend when needed. They just cleared everything and took no chances.

Something had to change second half, and I for one was very pleased he chose Clarke. We needed some more physicality up top, and straight away the ball started sticking up there. It was no coincidence that as soon as the ball stayed up there we were able to get the ball down and play in their half.
Hats off to Sharp for his finish....class.

But overall I was disappointed we allowed ourselves to be bogged down, and never seemed to get going. But I take the points gladly, knowing that some days we aren't at our best. It's not possible to be brilliant every week. That's football.

Your avatar was a dirty cunt today BTW.
Just saying like.

My standard is that Sheffield United win football matches. That is what I expect at the minute, and that is what we achieved. We might have been poor in the first half, or in your expert opinion "looked like we didn't give a fuck", but we came back out and got the win. I would say my demands and standards are a little bit more realistic than yours, and for that I'm also very grateful.

Yer enjoying yerself tonight aren't you Pinchy, slow down on the ale for fucks sake

Not really mate. I'd sooner enjoy a good win in front of a fantastic crowd.

I have a stalker, I'm afraid, It's a self-proclaimed shithouse, hopelessly lacking in brainpower, but tenacious enough, to its credit. I just have to put it in its place now and then. If it were as bright as it claims it would realise that it's out of its depth.

He was. I thought he was shite when he was here, and the avatar is a joke. I'd have settled for a bit more of his performance today mind.

Your OP is a nuclear overraction / fishing trip by the way. Just saying like. :)

And the reason we got 3 points was that Wilder did 2 things. Give them a round of fucks at half time and chuck on a big unit.
And yes,we looked like we didnt give a fuck first half. We'll agree to differ. Have an interesting 2017 and remember giving a fuck helps.

Actually it's my observation of 45 minutes of utter shit and 45 of about acceptable. seriously.

I'm not being awkward but I genuinely don't know where I'm supposed to have abused you? The amoeba wasn't agreeing with anything but purporting to instruct me not to call you 'mate'. I was merely enquiring whether you objected to that.

First half was as bad as i've seen since the Southend game but 2nd half was comfortable. We've played below par now for two games and got 6 points. I do think standards have dropped but I'm just worried really

It comes across as someone royally spitting their dummy out and looking for a rise, whatever your intention.

The first 45 minutes weren't good enough, but miles away from a standard that would precede some of the ridiculous hyperbole you've used.

I can just imagine the Arsenal Mad Forum and a poster called PiersMorgansCockRing starting a nonsensical thread full of drivel and bile called Not Good Enough after a 2-0 win that keeps them second in the table.

Yet we have Brownie girlsittingonabigcockring on here. Amazing.

I attended more than anyone should have had to Gray. And since when has "That was shit but we got 3 points" acceptable?
That is no way to go forward. I'm sick to death of "We were crap but squeezed 3 points". That dosen't apply this season very often, but its a shit mantra for success. I call what I see. Sad if people find criticism of our precious boys unpalatable. Suck it up I say.
No l agree that that first half was poor mate, I said the same. I think 3 or 4 had been on the port especially and specificity the CM's and two full backs.

What I'm saying is that at no time did I drift off into a coma or throw myself down onto the running track like last season, so I guess we've moved on.

I'm happy with the second half and the win though. Billy's first goal was almost worth the entry fee, and a lot of top teams in every division have to grind our results just like we did today. Just watching the Pigs, you wouldn't think Newcastle were top on this performance and apparently Bolton were shocking today.

That's your opinion and mine.
Start a thread at some point with your honest opinion. It's a lot harder than just slating someone who actually cares enough to so do.

Bert must have very low standards because he was very happy to see us win at home and move to within a single point of the league leaders even though the first half wasn't great.

Or, if you don't want the error of your ways pointing out by those who disagree, don't start a thread full of overreaction in the first place.

I have absolutely no issue with you as you should well know. Sadly I have been a bit distracted replying to a couple of bell ends so apologise for not giving our conversation more time.

Oldham today reminded me of us in the Premiership. For most of the game they made a much higher ranked side look very average. Fleck had one of his worse games and we depend on him a lot when we're trying to get control of the ball. Coutts wasn't great either. But, to keep the comparison going, like many of our Prem games where we were eventually shot down by a player that was a class above anything in our side, Duffy (having had a poor start to the game and grown into the best player on the pitch) goes knee, flick over the top, and Sharp nearly breaks the net. And then you saw that look on the Oldham players that said "Shit, that's our game plan fucked.". Maybe if a couple of their players hadn't wasted half the game by taking a brief nap in the middle of the pitch we would've had time to make it four again.

Worth saying that O'Connel was excellent for me. Love having a bruiser like him in the mix. Overall, we didn't create nearly as many chances as we've been used to of late and it won't go down as one of the memorable games of this season. Where I give us a lot of credit, and take a lot of satisfaction, is from the knowledge that right now we're always capable of producing something. Oldham can make us look average for 2/3's of a game and leave knowing that's a good 1/3 short of having anything to show for it.

We didn't fluke today. We won because we have players with ability that they don't.

Fucking hell. Clear, balanced, full of common sense with a final sentence that epitomises today and the game of football generally.

Ban him.

I have no problem with people disagreeing. By the way that dosent make them right.
And quit the patronising shit. Makes folk look a proper cunt does patronising. And im sure you wouldn't want folk to think that eh.

I don't understand how having an off day and never really getting going equates into the players giving no fucks?

Nothing to do with poor attitudes, and them lacking interested.

Oldham had a plan. Disrupt the game, break any rhythm and slow it down. Anyone else notice how every time we had a decent attack and the fans got going one of their players was immediately injured for a minute or three!? And that happened from the first minute.

Instead of lambasting the players, a little more understanding and thought is needed. Teams know we are the best side in this league. They know if they try to play us at football alone we will invariably win. So they try to disrupt us. Thankfully we won through in the end.

I don't see what was patronising. So you may as well move straight to the thinking I'm a proper cunt. I think that's the way you're heading, and neither of us will lose sleep over it.

And yet you rarely ever utilise it.

See the thing is "matey mate", I'm not some defenceless target like Dave Bassett or Nick Montgomery or Matt Done, nor am I some abstract entity like "parochial S2".

I don't suffer bitter little sniping snivelling remnants like you and I never will. And none of your pathetic bleatings can change that. You're a guttersnipe, and the rest of this forum is increasingly realising this. Now run along.

Rising above all the puerile name calling and obscene language as I always do, I thought that Oldham came with a great game plan playing high up the pitch and moving onto our midfield quickly. My impression was that neither Freeman nor Lafferty managed to get forward out wide and Lafferty seriously pissed me off in the first half by failing to make the obvious run forward. This left Done and Billy working for space but the midfield three misfiring. It needed something in the middle the park to hold and distribute and that was Leon Clarke who "showed" for his midfield rather than running away from them. That then required Oldham to change shape which brought Duffy into the game for us. Master-stroke Mr Wilder.

I like Done, but it wasn't his game today and he was "off". Clarke is a lazy get, but he delivered exactly what was needed which was presence and a tactical awareness.

Call me if you need a new pundit Gary.
