Not bothered about Europe

Must admit I think the OP makes a decent point, but the nearer we get to those Euro places, the more I’m changing my mind. Plus it would absolutely trigger the pigs 😂

If we continue as we are going, we better get used to Europe!!
Might not be this season, but looks inevitable at some point I'm afraid 😉

Said no one ever apart from you I want what ever your on it’s like planning on going on Holiday to Paris then getting the funds then deciding to go to Blackburn absolutely pointless

I think finish as high as poss this year. Have a good go at Europe if we get there (I think we will finish around 10th actually) and a steady prem season next season and finish around midway.

BTW, how many tickets are we likely to get in a euro fixture ? 😜😜😜

Before we get carried away and I learn how to say "get your knickers off" in Kazakhstani, which place qualifies for Europe? Other than winning the FA Cup isn't it at least 7th? Think Wolves were 7th last year and only got in because City won both cups. So at the very least we need to be 7th and possibly 5th if Villa shock City in the EFL Cup and say Man Utd or Arsenal win the FA Cup.

How fucking ludicrous would the thought of even discussing this have been this time last year!

So all you saying no to Europe (;)) are saying that we would not do well with overlapping centrebacks ? They wouldnt know what hit 'em! As the old brigade used to say "Lets go stick it up 'em!"

We were just chatting about European qualification earlier. The consensus in our house is that we would love to qualify and initially draw Glentoran from the Irish league in the first round. Last season Wolves played crusaders from Belfast. We are Glentoran season ticket holders and would love to watch the blades take on the glens both home and away. That would make European qualification very special for us.

To be fair it fucked up Burnleys season when they qualified. It's a distraction for sure

Difference between us and Burnley is that they didn't go and upgrade their squad with the quality we're doing and likely to do again in the summer. Chris Wood is a great player to be fair, but signing Sander Berge and Retsos is a step up in recruitment because we're signing players who have already played in European competition domestically and in the Champions League. Burnley have never done that to my knowledge. Next season the way we're going with recruitment, its possible that Lunstram, Basham and one or two current first team players will be in the bench and yet still good enough to play in the PL. Right now if we have to rest players we end up with one of the Freeman's coming in, or Callum Robinson etc.

We'll be much stronger next season if we continue to improve at the current rate. Burnley don't have that pulling power; we might not be Man U, but Wilder and the club as a whole are really making headlines that will continue to attract players that previously we thought we couldn't get.

So we have the best chance ever to qualify for Europe for the first time in our history and you don't want it? Same with the not bothered about the cup brigade.

Don't understand the logic at all. If it's possible grab it with both hands.
Why though ?
It would more than likely cost us our premier league place
The squads not strong enough and I doubt if it will be next season

Couldn't care less about qualifying for Europe. Second season in the Prem is always tough. Much prefer us to push on without the distraction of Thursday night games in Slovakia, injuries, suspensions etc.

Is this some sort of reverse psychology? I think I like it.

"Burnley spent very little on improving their small squad and didn’t really give themselves a chance." And how long have Burnley been in the Premiere League?"

The question is what is your ambition. What are your horizons and how do you see the world. I suggest that those of CWAK are much more than the ones you or I understand.

For years there have been many posts and threads on here criticising the board for not showing enough ambition.

Now we have a board and a manager who are aligned in their ambitions we get fans shit scared of playing in Europe because it might prove difficult.

If Chris Wilder ever said that he'd stay at the club whilst ever his ambitions matched those of the supporters then he'd be off like a shot if he read this thread.
