I think they will deffo catch us now this season.

In all honesty Boro were on a cracking run at the time but we showed that it's about the 46 games. Not a 15 game run.
Them up road despite them getting 96 PTS the focus was too much on their 23 game run and not to keep going.

Coventry totally deserved it tonight too. Really nullified them especially 2nd half.

You do wonder how Boro will be next season. They will likely not have Archer and might lose a few. Sure some will come in too but it's a start again. Can they do what hecky did and kick on next season or will they be looking for a new manager next November?

I think that if Wednesday had beaten Forest Green Rovers they would have got automatic promotion. Yes, you could also say that about the other games they lost, but in my view the Forest Green game was one of their most winnable games of the season. They blew that and with that loss blew automatic promotion.

They are not out of it yet. They lost 4-0 at Peterborough, but could do the same to them at Hillsborough. Being an eternal pessimist, I will not believe they haven't done it unless they are still 4 goals down in the 10th minute of added on time!

next year such a good year to avoid championship. Three relegated from premier league , Sunderland, Boro , WBA, Norwich , play off final losers , Stoke, Watford, Swansea etc. Will be strongest championship for years. Even without the grunters !!
It's only a poor league whenever we are in it.

League 1 (Champions), Championship (Runners up twice) and now get ready as we enter the poorest Premier League in history.

HA HA just as I thought Coventry lick Boro.serves them right, acting as if they were going to knock the Blades off second spot. Carrick should learn to keep his gob and his players gobs shut. arrogant twats.

Also worth noting, 2 wins in TEN by the might Boro. Mikey Carrick.

They started to phone it in once they knew they had the play-offs sewn up but couldn't catch us. Carrick thought "lets rest most of this squad" but what it seemed like to me is he stopped playing some of the players that were in form and its killed any sort of momentum they could have used going into the play-offs. I think that shows Carrick's inexperience as a manager along with not starting the likes of Crooks tonight. As soon as he came on Boro looked a lot more lively but by that point there was only 5 mins left plus injury time.

There is something to be said for keeping your form going like Luton have continued to do despite being mathematically unable to catch us and well inside the play-offs. They still have only lost 1 match since February and that was the first leg of the play offs.

Anyway its shut up the Sky Sports Michael Carrick hype train. Don Goodman's prediction of Boro storming their way to promotion this season has gone right down the shitter.

Dickhead Don thought the league ended in February as did the Boro fans. Hopefully Donut Don will present Michael Carrick with his Manager of the Year award at the play-off final šŸ˜‚

I couldn't face watching those goals again from the Lane
I remember having a 48 hour football blackout afterwards 😊
At 22:45 last night I watched them with a whisky and a big smile after all 3 goals 😁
Just Blackburn and Millwall to watch now!

How do you know?
Good foil for Ndiaye.
Tell me, who wouldn't want to come to BDTBL.
Don't try don't get.
I didn’t say we shouldn’t try, however he’s going to cost more than Ā£20m which means he’s out of our grasp. Also, quite a few other PL clubs like Wolves are supposedly interested which means we can’t match wages.
Aside from logic and reality there’s no reason why we shouldn’t get him through.

I'm admittedly biased as I used to live there, but Coventry is fine (especially these days, 25 years ago it was more of a hole I'll admit), and the only redeeming feature Middlesbrough has over it is that the Spoons is the cheapest I've ever found

My first visit to Coventry was in their first ever season in the old First Division at their first home match of the season. Drew 2-2 O think. I next came across some lads from Coventry at college in Horsforth, Leeds in 1969. Nice lads but arrogant. Coventry was full of the motor industry and wages were good. Went back in 2004/5 for 7 months to straighten out my then companies B2B telemarketing operation in Coventry Point office block. I was shocked at how dour the place was. It was during winter I was there and Christmas decorations and lights in the town centre had been replaced by "Winter Festival" signs and images. The place was scruffy and, oh, that ring road on stilts...
If you say Coventry is ok now then good, cos it was sh1te back then

Is it bad, that I'm happy Boro haven't made the final? For all their hot air and arrogance. Carrick, what a manager, ensuring they finished further away from us points-wise than when he started.

Now, I don't need, but I'd want to see Leeds and Forest go down and the pigs stay down. That would make for an OK season, wouldn't it?

On a more positive note, what a final Luton v Coventry stands to be. Two very good sides, two underdogs, two clubs that have been on the brink in recent years. Better still, no OBVIOUS sky rim job to be had (a la Boro, Forest etc).

Needs to be Luton in fairness. We finished 11 points clear of Luton, and they were 10 clear of Coventry. I know the playoffs is a bitch, but with big points gaps like this it doesn't sit right with me.

I want Luton to go up. Be nice for them. I also want to see how they get their ground PL ready.

Thing is though, I can see them staying up. They play some good football and the narrow tight pitch will cause problems for a lot of the pampered stars of the PL.

It's great to watch when it's a throw-in on the nearside of the pitch, the camera is literally straight above the thrower

full house Bramall Lane like season 1 of 2 is a far different place to help to us than a covid empty soul less stadium
luton will use their pokey ground to their advantage, we will use 31000 or so screaming blades to ours
and we can play nice football too,,,I can see us staying up too
