Norwich today

Went to Uni there, then lived there, went to many a Blades game there, met the mother of my son there (Her dad bought him a Blades shirt, but i'm teaching him the usual "Dirty Northern etc" for whenever we play anyone North of Derby).

I like the club.
Problem?
Choose to argue that point and miss the dozens of games i've been too......

But you know, they don't fit your agenda.
Are you called Geoff ?

As demonstrated on other threads , some on here have become giddy to the point of being delusional as to the type of player we are able to attract / afford . Good examples of this are suggestions such as Kyle Walker and even Willian . FFS get real .

With regard to Norwich players , it is blindingly obvious that the likes of Cantwell and Pukki will attract offers from clubs who can make much better offers than we are able to , both in terms of the transfer fee and wages .

However , they have one player who should be within our reach and worthy of a serious punt and that is Onel Hernandez . This guy has pace , skill , strength and determination , qualities which have been sadly lacking in some of our forwards in recent times . He reminds me in many ways of Traore at Wolves and we all know how much better they are as an attacking force when he is on the pitch .

For those of you who are ready to hit the keyboard with the simplistic "He's a winger , we don't do wingers " mantra I would suggest that he is a forward who is comfortable going wide as are Rashford and Stirling to name just two , but certainly not averse to coming inside and causing all sorts of problems for defenders .

Could be time for a 'new Duffy' to be fair.

What people don't often mention is that 'attack is the best form of defence' and in his prime he used to get the opposition pegged back. Certainly a case for more amendments to our system if we need to freshen things up.

Spurs or Chelsea? Not sure what you’re seeing there but he’s not exactly blown the league away. West Ham looking to blow out the non-existent competition with a stupid amount of wages sounds more likely to me. To spearhead their championship challenge with a bit of luck.

You might laugh, but he has scored 11 goals in by far and away the worst team in the league. There's going to be a lot less money flowing around and I'm sure he'd be happy to sit on a bench and play here and there. He's free and he won't command a huge wage. He has experience in this league and is a natural goalscorer. Look at the strikers on the books at those clubs. Not many, are there? Wouldn't he be a no-brainer in terms of a reserve striker?

His best match would probably be Leeds, assuming they come up. He's hard working and unlike everyone else in the squad, can score goals.

Not forgetting anything, everyone has an opinion however "tedious" anybody thinks it is!
I stated fact, today Norwich played better than we have in the last 3 games!! Can you honestly argue that point, a clue, it's a 'yes or no' answer!?

I also stated a fact that we are a better team and have had a much better season. They can have their one better game than us in which they still lost I will take being in the premier next season!

I’m not laughing, but I have to say I think the hypothetical signing of Pukki would be a huge waste of money for us. I’ll even say that allowing for what Norwich would likely demand for him, I’d be really annoyed at United for paying it.

He’s 30 years old and I‘ve never seen anything from him that makes me think he’s more than a (slightly) younger Sharp - he’s a finisher, he doesn’t create his own chances, or link play like McGoldrick can. He can’t stretch a team with pace and he’s not overly physical.

Since mid September he’s scored 5 goals. Since mid December, it’s 3 - and 2 of them were penalties.

11 goals from 30 appearances is fine. He’s fine. It’s more than any of our players will score this season. He’s scored 11 goals from almost exactly 11xG - so he takes chances at the rate you’d expect an average striker to take them, given a fair wind. But none of our current strikers have benefitted from the sustained run in the team he has (he’s played almost 1000 minutes more than our most-played striker, McBurnie) and being the focal point of their attacks week after week, and so they haven’t had the chances created for them that he has (our player with the highest xG is McGoldrick, with 7 - and we all know his finishing abilities this season). None of them have taken a penalty either.

I wasn't suggesting for one second that we should (or for that matter, could) sign him. He's too much like Sharp.

I thin
That’s two....ok. But you must see my point. It’s the bigger picture too, and not just him. It’s the magnitude of the games when the mistakes happen too. Keepers have to make mistakes by virtue of their exposure but not in the biggest games like Henderson?
k your point has beenwell and truly "owned".

Keepers make mistakes, even the very best ones. Hendo is probably the best of his age in the country. Replacing him is the biggest challenge that Wilder faces

It’s that rush of blood that separates the good and great. Big game, last minute equaliser, he then panics and charges off from his position.

Is he to blame that they have a played unmarked 8 yards from goal?

I'm not sure that counts as a clanger. Someone needed to close the goal scorer down and no one else was doing it

He came rushing off and left his post open, (Unlike the Arsenal fella when facing Billy). Massive game today as was Leeds etc. I’m past debating it, he’s proved my point today, (and no one owns anyone).
