if either us or Norwich make the fourth round of the F.A Cup then the away League game at Carrow Road will be moved to a midweek evening fixture.

Good luck to all planning to make that trip.

Still.. be on red button... every cloud..

Ooh, lovely.

It's just pubs that currently can't get midweek games on the red button, as I found out last Tuesday after traipsing around all Handsworth boozers with Sky.

I think there is a good argument for making the F.A. Cup the mid week competition now, most clubs give it about equal priority to The League Cup, a midweek competition up to the final.. (and there is an equally good argument for scrapping the League Cup entirely)

The majority of fans I am sure would rather have a Championship six pointer on a Saturday at 3pm.

Hard to disagree but I’m guessing the tickets will be cheap with kids getting in for next to nowt so it’s a chance for families with less disposable income to go to a game. Can’t really knock that.

In fact, I quite like that people without Sky can watch a live game or too on the BBC. The FA Cup is keeping football accessible, which I think is a good thing.

Not many times I say I’d wish I’d thought of this myself, but excellent idea.

Barring a huge cock up we will be in the 4th round

A chance to give fringe players a run-out too.

For many blades like me who live closer to norwich than sheffield its a great move. Dont worry, we'll sing for yer :D

I live closer to Norwich and I think it'd be a terrible move! Still far prefer travelling somewhere on a Saturday with hours to spare than traipsing on a Tuesday or Wednesday night.

Maybe not you, but you implied for many it was great. The last train to London leaves Norwich at 10pm and gets in at midnight. 'Nuff said.
Not too good for anyone who works after 5.00pm either.

You're not wrong. That's actually more problematic than getting away. The last train you can feasibly get from London to arrive in time for kick-off leaves at 5.30pm.

Anyway, it's not ideal and I definitely wouldn't be going.

Easy get that train after the game ends and i'd be happy to get in at 2am so long as I see the lads play

Every cloud and all that...

From 19 Feb to 23 Feb Norwich is hosting the national Winter Ales beer festival...

Would still mean the cost of getting a room but makes for a good pre match warm up...and post game warm down location..

Ps: I love my ale and have heard all the comments about beer geeks, beards, farting and sandals already.

Blades beer geek and proud!!

It’s not the drinking of real ale that bothers me, each to their own, it’s the fact that real ale enthusiasts insist on telling everyone about it, all the time. And have a tendency to look down on those that are happy pouring a few pints of Estrella down their necks.

A bit like vegetarians and vegans. ‘Why are you telling me you’re a vegan, I’m not going to cook you a fucking meal?’

;)

I didn't know that, thanks for the heads up!

Actually thinking about it, if both teams are knocked out of the Cup (unlikely I know) then I bet that this game will still get Skyed...

It’s got Friday night written all over it..

Mucho inconvenience

The danger here BushBlade is that by suggesting real ale enthusiasts stereotype other people and are judgemental, you run the risk of stereotyping people & looking a bit judgemental.

I agree with the above, I think we're all sick of hearing about 'real ale enthusiasts'.

Pipe down and drink your pint. Nobody cares. You're as bad, if not worse, than militant vegans.
