Also, Wales often play the long game with these youngsters - giving promising players caps very early to secure their allegiance.

Yes, though the ‘secure the allegiance’ thing is more a case for those like Brooks, Ampadu, and Woodburn that have other options. Not sure RND does. Suffice it to say that they aren’t afraid to rapidly accelerate players through the set-up – I don’t think what I’ve said is unrealistic at all if he plays regular football at a decent level.

True. The Swansea cast off has only been with us for a year but a year at our Academy is the same as 10 years elsewhere ;)

A bit longer, pal. I saw him once for the U18s. He was excellent, as were Slater and Graham.

RND missed a large part of last season with the 23s due to a serious injury. He has not played many games and I expect this may be one of the reasons CW wanted him on loan to get some competitive football time. I would expect, if experience cover is available, that the lad goes down the stated development plan and go on loan otherwise he's on the bench or in the 23s when he needs regular competitive games. Great prospect

Given what has been said about being selected for Wales U21 & International caps being "talent identification". I thought I'd mention United's current list of youth internationals coming through.

Marcus Dewhurst England U17
Jordan Doherty Ireland U19
Stephen Mallon Ireland U19
David Parkhouse Northern Ireland U21
Rhys Norrington-Davies Wales U21

Karston Ayong (Czech U20) represented us a week ago!

I’ve never really rated David Parkhouse when I’ve seen him play. But to qualify that I thought Alan Woodward was rubbish when I first saw him - so obviously DP has a brilliant future for us to look forward to!

I'm building anticipation until peak audience hours...
In an absolutely classic piece of clickbait shithousing, I'm posting my Blog on this thread as well.

A great, competent performance by the Under 23s. I've tripled out Reece York, Jordan Hallam & Tyler Smith. But, a true Captain's performance, a superb free kick, two assists & a goal don't cut it for Hero Of The Day.
That goes to the marvellous Hull Chanty Guy.

Hi 10p
Putting aside "will he make it" - which I usually do.
I like watching Parkhouse play. A proper old skool target man striker. Come deep. Win the punt from the keeper or centre back. Nod it on for one of the fancy dans to run on to. Sprint for the penalty spot. Get on the end of the cross or nudge into the box. Booom.
But, FFS, he needs to score a lot more goals.
Puts a smile on my face....

A replacement for the Wright man for you?

The club will be doing everything it can to get him into the first team

We'll need another big transfer fee soon.......to stay in business and keep us ticking over

That broken record must be getting pretty worn out by now.

How do you think your team are going to go on this season, having 'top players leave' like Hunt, Rhodes and Loovens?

Not to mention 'Fessi' when he tripple barrel rolls in the first game of the season to an innocuous challenge and demands 100k p/w or he's off!
