I know this has been mentioned on the U21s thread, but most people wont see it.
Sent off today, two dissent yellows in quick succession.
Hopefully doesnt count for first team games.

I think that tells you we have to show more discipline. Too many yellow cards at 1st team level ! It will omeback to bite us if we rnt careful.
4 run ins with the EFL already! Keep getting the bookings and we will be punished for that as well.
I'm all for the players covering each others backs! Just too many silly bookings .
Souza has learnt his lesson seems to realise now he couldn't carry on the way he was ! That needs to spread with the other squad members.
It does seem the EFL are jumping on us at every opportunity! Maybe they are fed up with the saga with the takeover .

I always got the feeling that he needs a good run of games to make the grade it’s funny how every manager who have been here want to give him a chance

He was decent under Hecky until that terrible injury at Coventry.

Playing him as an out and out centre half in a four did him no favours for us last season. It’s unfair for anyone to judge him on that.

IF fit he can be a decent squad member at this level. For now, it’s some insurance if someone comes and takes Burrows.

Looks fit today but yup still sh*t n slow

Few years back under hecky at lcb and lb he was in cracking form. Was going too get called up to Wales squad and play in WC in 2023. I actually thought at times this is the closest we had come to replacing O'Connell. But this was only over a about 4 games.

Injury set him right back. Since then whenever he's played for us he hasn't given any of us much confidence.

Selles played him a CB in a 4 last season which just shows how insane he was. Although to be fair he had also been given a crap hand by the transfers that summer for the opening game of the season.

Did well at QPR last season playing at LB. I don't think I'd put him ahead of McCallum or Burrows but clearly at LB he is a champ player.

You have to ask though the question then. We don't need 3 LB's.

What do we think about him being back?
Genuinely forgot he was on our books. Could’ve fiddled about with team selection for a week and he wouldn’t have been on it.

Decent spell under Hecky, but that’s it. Thought he’d gone somewhere to quietly disappear (with no ill will) last season.

It’s very strange the full back scenario.

I was counting earlier at pro level we have 8 right backs!

Seriki, Doherty, Shackleton, Curtis, Sachdev, Polendakov, Giggs, Colechin

Granted Polendakov has been sent on loan with enough clauses that it would be amazing if he returned.

Makes sense to let Sachdev recover and you’d expect Curtis to go out again; he’s still only 20.

I suppose Giggs and Colechin will compete for right back in the U21s and Giggs and played midfield for some games and Colechin wide right for some as well.

It’s Shackleton who sticks out like a sore thumb as we know.

Just seemed a lot!

I always forget about Shackleton because he's never available.

Presume he must now be in his final year?

Sachdev has already gone out on loan to Boston Utd. I expect Curtis to go somewhere in League One, he seemed to do well at Chesterfield last season.

Selles was a mad man, RND at cb in a 4 and don't forget One at rb against boro away 😂😂😂.

I wish him all the best but really hope he’s moved on. Bar a handful of games, I’ve never been impressed with him. We need better.

I rate him as a centre half in a 3 when fit and on form.

Unfortunately, it’s very rare all of those things are true.

I’d keep him around just in case and say “you’re gone in January if you’re not playing. Reserves or take a move somewhere.”

He's a serviceable Championship left back but nothing outstanding, certainly wouldn't be first choice here if he sticks around.

I thought Giggs was a LB?
Or am i just making a typical assumption that his Dad was left footed that he is too?

Don’t think we’re quite at the level of inverted full backs at Bramall Lane.

McCallum for me is definitely the number 1 LB in a flat 4, RND defensively is about ok to provide cover, I still think we can keep Burrows too, just play him further forward in the LW position. Get RND to drop a bit deeper so then has options to up to Burrows who going forwards is a lot better or play out of one of the DMs

Surprised to see him yesterday, equally surprised to see him get pulled. Tactical? Fitness? Was his inclusion because of an issue with McCallum?

Giggs is right footed and I think central midfield is his main position, although he can also play right back. He's not really similar to his father.

Fair enough!

Actually did my research afterwards - looks like he plays RB, LB & CM
