Some are predicting our lowest turnout of the season for the play-offs.

Historically, I don't think our attendances have been particularly good for them with 10-20% of our regulars not in attendance.

No judgement, I might not be able to make it myself.
Old age combined with not living in Sheffield and an 8 pm kick off on a Monday ! It helps that it is on tv

You didn't put "unable too due to being old and fucked "

I do understand the pessimism (to an extent), but IMO it feels like we’re in better shape this time around than in previous years.

I can’t make either of the semi final’s, due to injury but hoping to be fit enough to go to the final… if we get there and I can get a ticket.

I'm definitely suffering from play off fatigue, will be at The Lane Monday night but really not sure I can be arsed with the expense and effort of another trip to Wembley should we get there.
Then again, I know full well that come the day, if we're there, I'll regret not going, at least until the final result is known.
As an added twist, unless I can get cover at work (very unlikely) the matter will be taken out of my hands regardless.

Get well soon mate, but don't say we're going to final just yet

I remember the same thing happening between Bradford and Blackpool in 1996 in the third tier play off

I'm surprised at you Roy & Silent ! We don't need water throwing on the fire ! Too many damp embers!
I really can understand some fans having commitments and missing it! Do we have a depressed fan base after all these near misses.?We as a nation didn't buckle after Dunkirk, the battle of Briton followed and we won through in the end,.
With the help of the Americans.!
Americans ! that is interesting with our owners!.

I'm going Monday night. Either it's a celebration of getting to Wembley, or it's the last opportunity to show appreciation for the efforts of the season before the summer.

At this point, I absolutely have no idea if I'd want to go to Wembley. I'll work that out if we get there.

I’ll be there on Monday and really looking forward to it (pending tonight’s result)
I can’t go to Wembley though due to misguidedly booking a holiday with Mrs Nasty.
Despite previous disappointments I’d definitely have gone should we make it that far and will be absolutely gutted I didn’t go should we win.

Careful. Trump will be claiming responsibility when we make it back to the prem

A lot of good points in this thread, but ticket sales for Monday will pick up unless tonight is a disaster. I'm looking forward to the play offs and really fancy us to get through, what has happened in previous years is irrelevant. I could never get on board with not going to Wembley cause we have always lost mindset though. I know a few who have said it but I find it really strange, being negative for the sake of it. Plenty who say it now will go as well though. If people can't make the games for financial, family, work reason etc then that should never be criticised.

Price of tickets is a real shame. The atmosphere for the Coventry game was great, G&H got the South and BL Upper corner going which doesn't happen every game. I will be there on Monday and at the final if we get there, and would have gone this evening if I could have got a spot on the coach. Financially not a clever choice but hate the thought of missing out

It is crap at Wembley, but us winning there and not being there, you'd kick yourself.
Always wanted to see United at Wembley, haven't been before and would rather watch Blades there than England, especially for my first time going.

But while I could just about afford my ticket for final, I wouldn't be able to afford the travel and/or any overnight accommodation if I needed it, so I have to settle for watching it in my local pub instead.

No direct trains , so Iooking at National Express. A Travelodge nearish to London (about £150 for 2 nights) and get tube to Wembley. I am never going on the coach to Wembley ever again, after the last cup semi. Took ages to get out of the car park.

Mate, what the fuck are you on about 😂

I've started taking my 6 year old son this season, so got us tickets for Monday (the late finish a bone of contention with his mum), and we'll be going to Wembley should we get there. I'd have no expectations about the result but taking him to Wembley to see our team would be my main motivation. Might try and convince my wife and daughter to come down, get a hotel north of London and they can go shopping for the day whilst we're at the match.

Think this is the beginning of the end for the club unless chris and the lads are mentally resilient enough to do it without the supporters behind them

Once the new investors realise they have been sold. A dud of a club that can't even sell out a play off they will be looking for a way out and we will start to see downsizing and cost cutting

So well done everyone your apathy is killing your club.

No I think they'll look at the average attendances and see that yet again we're one of the best supported sides outside of the PL. But they already knew that before they bought us.

That's a tad over pessimistic. I think a lot of fans find it difficult to fund attending football - both financially and time.
I'm lucky. I'm retired with time on my hands and enough money to afford it.
I don't blame people for holding back on 2nd leg tickets pending tonight's result.
If we come away with a decent result tonight I'm sure ticket sales will pick up - does anyone know for certain how sales have actually gone?
My one issue with support is that we need the team to lift us rather than us lifting the team. But that applies to a lot of clubs - the one obvious exception being Crystal Palace
