Sounds a bit Man Cityish…With the season ticket obligation over, many people are probably saving themselves in hope of a potential big trip to London and all the expense that will entail. 🙏

(I am going but) isn't it simply the case that for league games we have 20,000 tickets already bought and paid for, for every game, whereas this is an extra game people haven't budgeted for when they bought those season tickets? And a pricy one at that vs the pro rata season ticket cost.

I didn't appreciate the club doesn't get to set its own prices for the play-offs, I'm not well researched on it.
Really this should be priced at £15 for the reasons you stated.

Allegedly we pushed for cheaper prices but the other clubs (most notably Sunderland) pushed back.

Are play-offs generally less well attended though?
You'd think the excitement factor would usually supersede the extra £20 expense in most cases... which then made me wonder if we have play-off fatigue.
Your pod did a good job of exploring why that might be (9 x failed attempts 😳)!

I’ve fought our corner all season when my piggy mates have tried to take the piss out of our fanbase…. but I’m waving the white flag if the numbers turn out to be as poor as predicted 🙈
How can they take the piss out of our fan base? Our home average is excellent. 1500 more than they average and they get bigger away followings.

I’ve put match fatigue, it’s a weird one but I just can’t get excited and almost don’t care. As I said, weird one 😂

Edit: worth saying I’m away with work anyway but wouldn’t have gone if I was in the uk
Snap, been a strange season for me, missed 3 months due to knee op, best footy mate passed away and just haven’t got back my enthusiasm for it at the moment. Pricing is outrageous ( not our fault I know) so I’m happy to miss it and should we get to Wembley I ain’t going.

It’s pretty poor if we need to drop prices to £15 to get a decent attendance for a home playoff match, regardless of our playoff history.

We’ve known for weeks we’d be in the playoffs so hopefully that’s given fans more opportunity to budget and find the money.

I'm going but can't be arsed to go, daylight robbery charging 35 quid! I do not believe we couldn't charge home fans what we wanted, that said a bloke at our work is a season ticket holder and wanted to buy his 2 mates who have been occasionally down the years tickets and as they had no membership this season couldn't do it and can't renew membership till next year. So that's 2 potential attendees turned away, is our club literally brain dead?

This is before the complete fiasco they will make of selling Wembley tickets in batches. IF

So there will be sub around 20k there Monday for the pigs and Leeds to go on about for 20 years.

Then IF we make Wembley we will be that side that has a half empty end.

Sounds like loads of away tickets for the semi have been returned too. I think people bought them maybe thinking they could make a profit but it's not happened so there will be a fair few empty seats in the away end tomorrow.

There doesn't feel much buzz at all about the play-offs this time and not much appetite for promotion. I think last season still hugely hangs over the club. Hopefully things change after tomorrow but it's really low key at the moment

I'm actually looking forward to them!

I'm surprised you're charging that much, usually quite reasonable. It was £30 at Cov which is lower than our usual Category A matches. Presumably it's Bristol City driving your price?

Everyone is different and everyone has United at a different prioroty level in there life.

When i was late teens early 20's, United were a big priority and i travelled well to watch them, now im 50 (nearly) with a family, priorities change.

Ive only bought tickets for Monday because my lad hasnt experienced play offs yet (lucky b##ger) and we cant do the final IF we get there, as we are away.

For those obsessing about the home leg ticket sales, they are what they are, but lets see what they are like on Monday morning before having meltdowns.

If the game goes well in the 1st leg, i'm sure sales will pick up.
If it doesn't go well, people will probably keep there money in there pockets and i dont blame them.

I think a lot of people are a bit 'meh' at the moment.
The league position is great from what many of us thought it would have been after last season and the clear out, but it could have been better if we didnt have the poor results towards the end of the season.

The games have been 'meh' quality and entertainment wise, but hopefully tomorrow night will get some fire back in the bellys of most of us.

There is a lack of excitement and a lot of it is because getting promoted isn't new anymore. Call it entitlement or whatever but the other 3 teams will be buzzing as 2 of them haven't ever been promoted to The Premier League and the other hasn't been there for years. We on the other hand are going "here we go again.....".

It's totally unfair on the current team and manager but it's the way it is. Man City didn't sell out the Fa Cup semi final. It's nothing new to them anymore. They've done it. Obviously we've never won the play-offs but we have been promoted twice very recently and we've been to Wembley 4 times in the last 15 years. Add that with the lack of appetite for promotion and it's not a surprise ticket sales are slow. We're fighting for something we've experienced twice very recently and
nobody is looking forward to the reward.

Fella I sit next to only ever goes to his season ticket games. He just won’t countenance any cup game, or any playoff.

Which seems a bit mad when the really big occasions are usually not one of the basic 46.

But that’s folk for you.

I've written exactly the same thing in the other Bristol City ticket thread.
